WATCH OUT FOR Sterling national mortgage!!

i tried in vain for 8 months to modify my loan with Wells Fargo. After being sick of the runaround, i decided to shop around and see what type of refinancing i could get. If i could just roll in a little debt, i would be ok. WELL. i went on Lending Tree and requested quotes. i recieved a response from Quicken loans (with 5.5% but $6000 in closing fees). i also received a response from Surepoint mortgage and Sterling mortgage. I contacted Sterling first. I should've seen the red flags.... He was pushy, bad mouthed all other banks and told me over and over how his company is the best because they are not a broker. i agreed to go with him because his interest rate was 5.0% When he finally got around to telling me what it would cost to close, it was over $10,000! i called Surepoint and started the process with them and emailed my contact at Sterling to tell him no thanks. In the mean time, i got a recomendation from someone at work, at Fairway National Mortgage in Mass. (who is WONDERFUL, pm me for contact info). He is able to give us 5% with under $2000 in closing, no points. Sterling began calling over and over. They are holding our FHA case number and are refusing to release it. they are harrassing me by telephone. they call and call wanting to talk to my fiance (becuase i won't hear it anymore) and all they do is badmouth everyone under the sun. when i stopped taking thier calls, he called 22 times within 25 minutes, let it ring twice and hung up each time. i emailed my fiance at work who called him and told him to quit it. He stopped acting psychotic, but still tried to call my fiance at home 5-6 times last night. even when my fiance said we had plans, the kids and dogs are in the car waiting and we eventually hung up on him. (it was 9pm friday night!)

So at this point, we are going to need to contact someone at FHA because they are refusing to release our number. Late last night he sent an email to my fiance saying that i was rude and abrupt and he doesn't think that his company would be a good fit for us (is HE breaking up with ME?? ) he said he would release it, but only to Surepoint, because that is who we originally said. i'm going to send him a letter with all of our new broker's info today and if the case number (or whatever it is) isn't released immediately, i will have to take action. i'm SO SICK of this mortgage bs. i have spent weeks worth of time on this and i do not need harrassment added!!!

beware of Sterling Mortgage. and if anyone has an email for the president of Sterling Mortgage's president Mr. Michael Bizeno please pm me or reply to my post. i'm going to file a complaint and want it to go to the TOP.

Re: WATCH OUT FOR Sterling national mortgage!!

i currently have a 30 yr fixed, 5.875%. we had cc debt to roll in and because of divorce, my credit slipped and i have to now get an FHA 30 yr fixed. i rolled in my debt and my payment if about the same. i tried to modify my loan with wells fargo, to lower payments and clear my debt, but after 8 months they still havne't come through. i'd rather refi at this point, to get away from Wells Fargo!

I thought the same way, but till I got a Banker to do a new Streamline FHA refinance I cannot see going another 30yrs and adding on a new $8,000.00 to value now
