NationStar has sent the subordination request to CitiMortgage (the 2nd lienholder) and this is where the process is hung up. Citi originally advised both NationStar and I that the subordination process would take a maximum of twenty-some-odd days (I believe it was 25). They are now advising me that it will take as many as 75 days. Apparently, due to their backlog, they decided this would be the case for all requests received after June 1. They are unwilling to do anything for me other than apologize for the inconvenience. I have already had to extend my rate lock once and now it looks as though I will be extending for a 2nd and possibly 3rd time before this is resolved - and that's assuming that they agree to subordinate. Please advise if this has happened to you and/or if you know of any recourse I may have regarding this matter. Is there someone at Citi I can speak with (and/or bribe???) to get my request expedited? Help! Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice! |
