We were denied a modification after being approved last November, I am wondering if this is just phishing, or if they are actually trying to help. Anyone have information? Thanks Seth |

I just called them to check on my modification application I submitted back in April (they started the clock as of May 1, according to the last person I talked to). The system answers with "You'll be helped by the next loan processor.....". Hours are M-F 8-9EST. I talked with a 'Mark' and he could tell me no more than the people that I've been calling to find out when I might hear back from them. He did, though, tell me a couple of things I hadn't been told: 1. It sounds like there is a third (or is this a 'fourth') party that takes and processes the mod. applications outside of Indy/One. They, as Mark explained it, are the ones that negotiate directly with F. Mac/Mae and are the ones that actually will send me either the letter of denial or a new loan packet.....all under the heading of Indy/One. 2. Because of this third party, Mark said that, often, I will know ahead of Indy/One about a decision being made regarding my application. 3. And, again according to Mark, it has been his experience that the longer it takes for them to get back to me the higher the likelihood that i'll get a new loan packet over a denial.....but nothing is written in stone, he did preface..... I'm, like a million and two other folks, getting tired of this feeling of helplessness with them holding all the cards. My fear is that the housing situation will become so 'common place' and not 'front page news' that loan servicers like Indy/One will start abusing the system....aka: us homeowners.....because public heat won't be that great on their backsides...... |

I submitted my loan mod packet and IRS 4506 form back in April....and I've tried calling and finding out the status or update on my application......but I can't find out much. I wish they had an "executive team" we could contact, in hopes they could help us or speed the process up. I am encouraged by the fact that you said that "Mark" told you that the longer it takes to hear back from them, the more likely you are to get approved for a loan mod. I did receive a letter, dated May 18th.....saying my file was under review for a modification and the review process takes 14 business days, however I still am waiting for an update. |
