Docs Needed to Request Mod - Loan Modification Forum

Am thinking about requesting a modification on a rental. What documents are necessary? I have seen mentioned a profit and loss statement....not sure what that entails?

Typically they will want a hardship letter, financial statement, bank statements, tax statements...the same info as if you were attempting a short sale. From what I read you will also have to be behind in payments before they will consider talking to you.
