Those of us who own multiple properties seeking the help from the so-called loan mod negotiators have to be especially cautious. Three of the attorney-associated loan mod companies I had interviewed just 3-4 mos. back are now either shut down, under investigation, or have altogether dissappeared. I felt leery about paying up-front retainers before, but now, I'm really hesitant.
