We started our 3 month trial modification payments in July and returned our documentation with our first payment on the new plan to CitiMortgage. It is a rental property now after having to move due to being unemployed and not finding work for 9 months. Citi declined our modification in the end of July or early Aug. (?). We made our reduced payment in July and again in Aug. Now we learned we are not eligible and are responsible for the difference of the reg. payement and the temp. HAM payment, plus $215 in late fees, and $30 or $60 for a drive by check on the house by citi since we did not make a full payment. I find this to be really crazy! I paid per the HAM agreement and can't believe I am now responsible for late fees that are now due and must be paid immediately to bring my account current. Anyone else have this happen and did you get it corrected or have to pay? Thanks! |

They have agreed to put us on a 12 month repayment plan to catch up on the money we owe from the difference of our regular payment vs. the trial period payment we made for 2 months before being denied the modification. Just fyi in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation. |

We lived there for almost 2 years with the intent to stay. Became unemployed with no job in sight for 9 months(making payments all the while). Found work in Cali. and moved. Rent where I live now. Have no other "investments". I am thinking about classifying it as a second home since it has only been rented since May and the lease is only 6 months. I can "move" my family back while I stay here and pay rent / mortgage for the other 6 months, but not sure if CitiMort. will offer mods on 2nd homes....anyone know the answer? |
