AHMS advise

My situation is similar to yours (Kirby's Mom) I have been running 3 months behind, But I did this on a companies advise. They stated since I have been making my mortgage payment on time AHMS woudl ignore my request for modifaction. They told me to stop making my payments during the as of Jan 1st 09. My loan was with Citi Residential at that time and in January it switched over to AHMS Well, I notified them and they stated they would then send the request to AHMSI and they would call them in the interim, I called friday and they told me that they had my account on suspense since I had changed my debit card and they where unable to retrieve their fees (I had called them in January and notified him that I had lost my card and provided them with my new debit) why did they wait till then to tell me it was on suspense? I just got another email today from them, they are telling me they talk to the negotiator and they indicated I was on Chapter 7. Tell me what does that have to do with my request to modify my loan? Furthermore that was the first thing I let them know when I agreed to let them help me with the modification. Tell me if I am wrong I went ahead and faxed a hardship letter to Jeane Drake and Mr. Davis I left a message for them and they have not called me back.. I then sent via my bank the total for 3 months past due mortgage payment although I did not pay the late fees. Does anyone have any advise for me?

I didn't want to pay a loan mod company to do what I could do for free. I don't trust them as there are so many scam companies out there now. I would just work with Jeanne Drake or Jim Davis' office. If you call Jeanne Drake, you'll probably get her assistant, Lindsey. She is very friendly and helpful. Stop calling a company as they only want your money!! IMHO.

The reason I went with a third party. I had attempted to do this on my own before and had no success. Yes I have stopped calling the company and I faxed the hardship letter to Jeanne Drake I keep getting her voice mail no response yet.

I'm only get their voice mails, too. Last week, I got through to a live person every time I called, be it Lindsey or my counselor, Claudia. I faxed all my docs over late Thursday and was trying to follow up to make sure they got them all okay as my fax machine at home is getting old and gives me trouble. But, now I can't get through.
We almost went with a mod company because Citi Res. kept telling me we don't qualify for a mod. What held us back, though, is that we didn't have the money to start it. Then, I found this site!!

Yay! I finally got through when I called Jeanne Drake's number. Lindsey answered and she put me through to my counselor, Claudia. Claudia said everythings been sent in, they were still waiting for escrow totals. She said to allow 2 weeks before looking for an answer. I asked Lindsey when she answered if they've been busy and she said Yes, they're extremely busy!! So, keep trying! I would suggest calling Jeanne Drake's number as I've had the most luck with that one.

Hi. I too am waiting for a final answer from Jeanne Drake's office. I tried my mod directly with AHMSI and got 'no'. I then faxed info to Jeanne's office and got a negotiator. Yes they are very busy. But keep calling the 877-304-3100 an ask the person that answers the phone if there are any updates on your file. I found that my mod is moving on this way. Also, I finally got a hold of my negotiator at Jeanne's office and she said they are waiting on a copy of my escrow totals. I told her I had a copy of my prop tax that was sent to me and she said to fax it over. This way is quicker. I don't know who they are waiting for to send them a copy of my escrow/taxes...my village treasurer?

I should hear in a week or two. They did say I would get a modification. Be persistent. I too am 3 months behind in pmts.

Lindsey had said I didn't need to make a payment this month, but, today, Claudia said I should. Also, I wonder if I should fax my tax bill? Don't know if that's what they're waiting on or not. She just said "escrow totals", which could mean what is on my bill now that I'm paying.

AHMSI asked for my property tax statement when I faxed in all of my financial paperwork. In which I'm 2 years behind, hopefully they will roll it into my new loan mod.
