My AHMSI Modification Story

Hello, everybody,

I found this site yesterday, and is my first time posting here.

Anyway, after talking with the consultant, I am certain that only a loan modification can help my wife and me. Our Option ARM is reverse amortizing, and a reset is right around the corner. I am learning as I go along. My current job cannot sustain a reset, and my wife, at present, cannot work. I'm sure our story is a common variation on a theme, as I have read some of the enlightening posts here before I was able to post myself.

I'm just feeling my way here at present, so I'm not going to jump onto the first thing that comes along. After telling me that I was a prime candidate for a modification, offered to check to see if they could actually do this thing. Toward the end of the conversation, I was told there would be an $1495.00 upfront fee (100% refundable if loan modification is denied by lender/servicer), and $2300.00 when the deal is done. That's $3795.00 total for modifying our AHMSI loan (I've read here already some success stories some have had in dealing with AHMSI by using other means).

So, the company rep called me later that day (yesterday afternoon) with the great news that their modifier power-that-be OK'd the process to go forward, and what credit card would I want to use to make payment on the $1495.00 (they can't send us the contract until they get the refundable 1st payment).

I stated that I am not ready to make such a momentous decision on the spur of the moment, and also when I am just beginning to learn what I need to know about our problem.

There ensued a bit of a "hard sell" routine. I turn into a reinforced concrete blast wall when I am confronted with any perceivable push. So the modifier then said I would have only 24 hours before the deal expired, and asked if he could call back then. I said OK.

While writing this, he called back and I gave him the same answer. He said that a lot of people have asked for more time to make a decision during the holidays, and then he said he could extend the deadline for me to make a "definite" decision. After I said that I would call him if I changed my mind, he said next week would be OK to do that. We then closed the conversation.

It is with great fortune that I have discovered you all here, and I would certainly appreciate any help you can give me.

LightTunnnel......

Good evening......welcome to the forum. I am so happy you found us and that we can help you out in this situation for FREE! You can do this all on your own, it just takes a lot of hard work, patience, and perseverance. With that said, write your hardship letter, gather your bank statements, w-2's, and paystubs, and fill out the income/expense sheet and fax it to the following vp's

Jeanne Drake-Direct phone line 949-784-6011
Fax Line 866-642-4196

Jim Davis- Phone-904-996-9696
Fax-904-996-9653

You should have a small surplus left over at the end of the month (something like $100-$250 per month).

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Re: My AHMSI Modification Story

Thanks, elpjohnson and ***, for cutting to the chase and putting me on the right track!

(Judging from my edited post I take it I came too close to the advertising double yellow line--sorry about that)

I will indeed keep you posted. Thanks so much.
