Question Loan Mod with bankruptcy

Hello,
I am in the process of chapter 7 bankruptcy. It should be discharged in 1/09.
I am a couple of months behind on my mortgage payments.
My house is worth arounf 400k.
first mtg with ahms is 344k
second " " 86k
equity loan w/benifical 41k
Total-------------------475k
Way upside down. At the 341 meeting the trustee has no problem about reaffirming.
My wife and I have a verifiable, stable net monthly income of around 7,800.
I tried a loan mod with them before but the numbers were off by the same amount of my min payments on my cc, so they didn't approve it.
Once these debts are discharged, and I no longer have these minimum payments, the numbers will show a surplus between 100-200 per month.
From what I've been reading, this is a good thing.
My question is, will ahms do a loan modification with someone that is just out of a bankruptcy. Is it against their policy, or would it be a case by case decision. If anyone has any information or personal experience with this issue, I would appreciate your comments.
Thank you!

Hi gmf333,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining.................

You would need to wait until your bk is fully discharged then you would need to contact AHMSI to see what options are available at that time.........they will work with people that have had a bk......but the modification given will be up to the investor on your loan.

Re: Loan Mod with bankruptcy

Thank you both. Hopefully things will work out.
I have one followup question. Do you know if they will add the missed payments to the principle if the mod goes through?

Re: Loan Mod with bankruptcy

that would be up to the investor...........most will take a good faith payment of one month or two and capitalize the remainder back into the principle.
