Thanks for sharing this Car67 this is excellent information. Here's one Moe Posted on this the other day:

Calling all mortgage borrowers and homeowners who have been railroaded, lied to, scammed and or defrauded by their lender and or mortgage servicers. The U.S. Government has now set up a mortgage complaint hotline through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that will now officially accept valid complaints from borrowers.

You now may get help. Just maybe and only time will tell.

The types of question you will need to answer will refer to the various parts of the mortgage or loan modification process which your issue may be related to. From the beginning when applying for the loan such as your application, originator, or a mortgage broker complaint. To a credit decision made in underwriting to the signing process of your loan agreement along with the escrow/settlement process and costs.

Having issues with or making payments on your mortgage?

The time to complain about your loan servicing, payments, and or escrow accounts. How about problems when you are unable to pay such as in attempting a loan modification, illegal collection tactics or a fraudulent foreclosure? Now, is the time to act and call the hotline.
They then claim they will forward your issue to the company, give you a tracking number, and keep you updated on the status of your complaint. After your information is submitted, it is then forwarded to your lender or mortgage servicer where they must then review you information, contact you if needed and determine what type of action may be needed to resolve the complaint. They are then supposed to report their solution (if any) to the bureau. Borrowers can log onto the agency’s “secure ‘consumer portal’ or call the toll-free number to receive updates throughout the complaint process.

To access the new mortgage hotline, please visit their online site @ https://help.consumerfinance.gov/app/mortgage/ask or call toll-free between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern at (855) 411-2372.

Please pay it forward by leaving feedback here as to the results you receive from contacting the CFPB’s new mortgage hotline.
    Keep Fighting!

    Hi,
I as well filed a complaint against my mortgage servicer using the consumerfinance.gov website. Surprisingly, the process went smooth and I encourage homeowners to use this resource especially if you are getting the run around with your servicer. After I completed it, I felt relieved that maybe now action will be taken on our behalf the homeowners. I've been kicked around and down by my servicer for a long time and I didn't think I'd get back up. This resource renewed the fight in me. We will see how it goes. Time will tell.

I just filed a complaint as well. I am just so upset that the result of sending in my papers requesting a modification was to *increase* my payment! At this rate I might as well just stay with what we have and continually be 60 days behind. I find it hard to believe that they cannot do anything else to help us??! Unreal....I keep reading about stories on here from people who have been successful and for some reason it seems we are getting the opposite of everyone else, I do not understand it.

To give an update with my complaint I filed with the consumer financial protection bureau website on 12/16/11 regarding AHMSI. I followed up today with a phone call to CFPB and I was told that they do not regulate mortgage servicers and they referred my case out to the Federal Trade Commission. When I called FTC, they told me when they received my complaint from the CFPB, I would receive something in the mail from the FTC, but they could not give me a time frame as to when.
So, it is my understanding that CFPB is not the place to file a complaint against mortgage servicers because they are not a bank such as AHMSI which is only a debt collection company.

Well, I received my feedback, Wells Fargo just simply came back and said they were unable to contact me, and that because I was suing them over this illegal foreclosure of our farm of 30 years, that the courts would have to decide, and the judge in our county is completely biased to the lender. So, how do I get justice? Keep paying lawyers until I get kicked out. I've been denied a refinance, denied a loan modification because the paperwork I submitted 9 times was missing "all requested documents", which is horse pucky because I did not forget a single item the entire 9 times I submitted it. Now, we file this complaint and its "under review" by the consumer finance bureau. Good luck with that, I've about had it with government agencies solving anything. I'm about to be evicted by a lender who illegally foreclosed on my farm, I've got the fraud evidence to prove it, and I can't even get a day in court after two years of fighting and another year of litigation. Unbelievable they are now expecting us to feel a sense of complacency because now the "consumer protection bureau" is going to come in and "save us". I let you know how that goes, when they respond after their "review".
