Option One Rate Freeze

My mortgage is supposed to adjust Oct 1st as well the only thing different is I live in Phoenix so my home value is down $40,000 I havent slept or enjoyed my home for over 6 months out of fear that I will not be able to afford my home. I never been late on a payment but i fear that with my adjustment I may fall behind. I currently have someone helping me try to do a modification but at this point I would be ok with a rate freeze. Has anyone else with AHMS gotten the "automatic" freeze they mention on the website???

Richard

Re: Option One Rate Freeze

Richard,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining..........
If you saw this on the AHMS site........since Option One serviced loans had just started being serviced by them a couple of months ago we have not heard of anyone getting the letter for an automatic freeze........
You might want to put together a hardship letter in the body of an email along with your loan number and contact info and send it to each of the email addresses below......to start the process and see if you can get started on this, also in the letter mention what it says on the website.

Re: Option One Rate Freeze

Hi Richard.....

I talked with Option One about the "rate freeze" back in January and they said if you were going to get it that it was automatic. Although, you could potentially be offered a rate freeze during negotiations with them depending on what your investor is offering. It's called a streamline modification and is different than a regular modification with different criteria. You can call them and get the information and apply for a streamline modification if you want just a rate freeze for a set period of time.
