sadly, I believe Jeanne Drake has left AHMSI. Her profile on Linked In now shows her as unemployed. Probably doing too good a job for us!
jim.davis@ahmsi3.com is a valid contact email for the Executive Vice President at American Home Mortgage Servicing
I sent an email to jim.davis@ahmsi3.com, and not 4 hrs later - received a call from the person who was handling my HAMP/Loan Mod. FInally got a timeline on when a decision will be made. This is progress for me.
It's unfortunate that the only way to get info from AHMSI is through escalation.
I was also given a call by someone from Jim Davis' office confirming that I talked to a negotiator.
Thanks Orygun, and LoanSafe for this forum!
We will get there!
I also sent an email to Jim Davis and today received a call from a rep from the customer advocacy department. She was able to confirm that modification was under review and even advised that in addition to my negotiator I could use her as a contact.
I too sent information to Jim Davis - snail mail - my attachment was too large and received a call. The person we spoke to had not seen the package that was sent (i will post his name later - forgot to bring it to work with me) but asked what it is that we wanted. We explained we are current with our loan, but struggling. We are also extremely underwater - mortgage is $203,000 house is appraised at $72,000. We told him we wanted a principle reduction. He said he has never heard of this (we chuckle _ like yeah right) and that it is not their discion to make. We told him that everyone has told us to just walk away - but we do not want to - we like our house. I think part of the problem is that people do not think to ask for a pronciple reduction. If you contact your servicer they will obiviously send you a loan mod - that way they can keep the principle the same. So I think if you really want to stay in your home - try & fight for the principle reduction. On another note - I sent the package out to serveral politicians pleading my case for the principle reduction - & I actually heard back from US Sentator - Bill Nelson -FL and it wasn't a standard form letter. It actually referenced information I sent. He needed a privacy release and promised to do whatever he can to help us. I will vote for him!
Hi All
If you read over some of my topics, you will see that I have been tauting Principle Reductions for a long time. I haven't heard of any banks actually doing any just yet. But we need to continue to send letters to the servicer, better yet if you get the investors involved.
Also, with your letter, send them a proposal. Put some number together on paper and throw it at them.
Here is an example of something I sent just this week. Remember you need to appeal to there business way of thinking, not your difficulity or hardship.
I requested the following.
Current principle balance= 390k/ home value 265k= Current int rate 4%- 30 year fixed- payment $2400.00 per month
Now the proposal
Lower Principle balance to 300k- still underwater but we both lender/borrower need to take a little hit.
Extend the term from 30 yrs to 40 yrs.with a 3 % int for the first 20 years and a 4 % rate for the next 20 years.
With a balloon payment of 90k at the end of the term. Remember banks love balloon payments. 40 years from now who really cares?
The goal is to lower payments now.
This example would lower my payment about $600.00 per month your results will vary.
Its important to simplify the numbers. Try to create a win-win situation. Also if your in a judicial state, when and if you go to foreclosure court. Showing the court that you were actually trying to work something out with the big bad lender may help postpone your foreclosure and buy you more time. At the very least it opens the door for negociations.
So just keep sending in letters and be frank. Tell them you are only interested in a Principle Reduction.--
Good luck.

I just wanted to confirm that contacting Jim Davis' office will get you results. I have been dealing with AHMSI for 4 months now getting the run around on correcting inaccurate credit reporting of a foreclosure that occurred in 2007. They would have me fax document after document to their resolution department which by the way they don't have phones or make phone calls...YEA! Anyways, I was told today that my file was moved to the consumer advocacy group but yet again I was told that they do not take phone calls or make calls. Another lie! Yes, I found this website and made a call to Jim Davis office and emailed him directly and I received a call from the consumer advocacy rep immediatley. I guess sometimes you need to just shoot for the top to get results.
Hi All
Great news about Jim Davis. I worked with his office people two years ago. They were great.
I will be sending him and his office my Principle Reduction request on Wednesday. I had it. Principle Reduction or become the Hampster Wheel Game Champ.
Good luck to everyone working with Mr.Davis, its a step in the right direction.
All the best.

Hi All
I understand Jeanne Drake is gone. Has anyone here heard of another person we could turn to?
I have dealt with JIM Davies.. But just wondering if there is anyone else? More contact are better for US.
Please if you hear or read about another person at the top of AHMSI, please pass it on.
Thank you and best regards.

I sent an email to Jim Davis yesterday and received an answer the same day. I don't know of anyone else to contact, but at least he's still responsive. Email is still jim.davis@ahmsi3.com.
