    Smile Glimmer of HAMP Hope!

Started my trial plan 1/1/10, and have made the first two payments so far. I keep logging into my account to check and see how they're applying the money--first payment, the excess was applied to principal (my trial payment is higher than my interest only payment because it now includes taxes/insurance).

My home insurance had been due 12/28/09, and they said they'd pay it, but it was 12/28 and they hadn't paid it, so I paid it so I wouldn't be without insurance. But today, I logged in and noticed that my February payment took the "excess" money and put it towards an escrow advance...they've already paid my 2nd installment on property taxes, and the account shows an escrow balance...it's in the negative, but that's just for now!

I also called today to check that all documents are where they need to be, and Home Retention has everything, including a tax transcript they pulled after finally getting my 3rd signed IRS 4506T form! He said I'm supposed to keep making the trial payments until my negotiator contacts me, but I will be calling my negotiator about a week or so after I've sent the 3rd trial payment in.

Also rec'd a letter over the weekend (a very generic form letter) saying they've "...received a workout package regarding the above referenced mortgage loan.....please allow up to 30 days from the date of this letter for AHMSI to complete the initial review and analysis. Upon completion of our review, a negotiator will contact you to discuss the options that are available and the required steps."

And there's a little paragraph explaining that the letter doesn't obligate them to approve a mod...but looking at what Kymmer has posted, and the fact that they've established an escrow acct. AND paid my property taxes, I'm wondering if *gasp* they're actually getting the ball rolling in anticipation of my successful #3 trial payment? Wow. I have hope!

    Keep following through everyone!!!

Hi, What ever became of your situation? I received the same letter after submitting a short sale package for approval.
We already have approval on the 2nd, 30 days seems a bit long.

This is the 3rd attempt for us. The first buyer walked after AHMSI sent the approval 2 days after the buyers contract expired, the second buyer filed for divorce just before closing and lost his financing, and this is buyer #3.

We did not receive this letter in either of the previous circumstances.

    Ideas?
