Re: how many payments are you behind.

We've all been there kymmer, hubby is the unfortunate recipient of my rants...especially when I keep getting tranferred only to get answering machines, knowing they haven't called you back yet so leavng another message is pointless. LOL

We are all here to help though and no one holds a grudge here. How can we help?

Re: how many payments are you behind.

As of November we will be 6 months behind.

We were able to easily afford our payments until DH's hours started getting cut towards the first part of 2009. By June/July our income had dropped 25-30 percent due to the tanking economy (thanks big banks!). Went into default per lender so they could "help" us....BS. Played their games for a few months and waited for phantom paperwork....twice. Last payment was around September 1 and we decided to stop payment completely shortly thereafter due to the runaround, apathy, and confusion on the part of Chase. That allowed us to get completely caught up on everything else and start putting money away for a rental and moving expenses. DH went to NACA Save the Dream in Phoenix and have not heard a peep since.

Yes, Kymmer - no need to stay away from here. Noone is upset with YOU - we're not judging you and we were just trying to make you realize how judgmental you sounded.

Hope you stay around - I've learned so much here & would love to help anyone I can help!

Wow.....that is amazing and a little confusing. Because I get Intent to Foreclosure letters from AHMSI when I am just 2 months behind. Are you also with AHMSI? Did you get those letters and when did the foreclosure start from the time you received the letters? I ask because the letters are very scary (which is probably the intention). I have submitted my HAMP documents and they are being reviewed. I was told to continue making payments bt I have only been able to make partial payments as we obviously can't afford the full monthly installment, thus the need for the modification. I am not sure if I should continue doing this or like some people said, keep the money aside in case the HAMP is not approved and home ends up being foreclosed. Do they continue foreclosure proceddings even though my docs are being reviewed for HAMP? I was told by AHMSI yes but when I called the Hope hotline, I was told they cannot foreclose if the file is being reviewed. Very confusing. Sorry if this is a sore subject as I know foreclosures are painful issues.

Re: how many payments are you behind.

lost...

At the 2 month mark I received the intent to foreclose letters, too.
We've received many calls for many months from them. I started answering the phone again two months ago. By the time I said "hello" no one would be there. I finally talked to a rep last week who told me I could dip into my retirement funds, 401Ks, call my family and friends, to pay the $21,000 I now owed on the mortgage.

We stopped paying Nov 2008. Aug 2008 they sent a certified letter saying they were foreclosing.
The auction date was yesterday, Oct 20. I assume it was foreclosed upon but I don't know for sure.

So 11 months of nonpayment. $17,000 of mortgage payments, so they tacked on $4,000 in late fees already. I have no clue what figure they create for attorney fees.

(we moved out after 4 months so we could move before the summer heat and get the kids settled before school started in the fall, so no, we don't have that money..wish we did, the minivan's tranny died 2 months ago and we can't afford to fix it. and we have no credit anymore....)

Re: how many payments are you behind.

To know if your house was sold, you can go to your county land record office (some are available online)You can send a Qualified Written Request to the mortgage company that will outline all charges and fees. This would be a good place to start and know exactly where you stand

Re: how many payments are you behind.

No, I'm not with AHMSI. We were with Wells Fargo. We stopped paying Nov. 08, and the house was auctioned on Oct. 6, 09. Whenever you get behind, you're going to get those letters. YES, the intent is to scare you into making a payment.

Re: how many payments are you behind.

I have been having problems with AHMSI. They have lied, laughed at and hung up on me to many times. They promise return phone calls, which never happens. I have contacted my state Senators who have responded saying they are going to investigate. My case has also been forwarded to the State Banking Commission and the U.S. Treasury. Please contact your state senators about this company. AHMSI should not be allowed to treat their customers in this manner.

Re: how many payments are you behind.

I do believe I am now 9 months behind on the first and 8 months on the second. So basically, I could have conceived and given birth to a child quicker than getting a loan modification!!! Ha ha! I would never have thought of pregnancy as a quick process but compared to the loan modification process, it is!
