I started this process in July. My wife and I fell behind after my wife had surgery last winter and had lots of medical bills and also I had a small Salary decrease at work due to the slow down. So in July when one of the indian people called me I hold him that I could not make the payment and how he could help. After being put on hold for a while he told me that I quailified for a Modification from AHMSI and I needed to go online and get a form and a list of documents that I needed to fax to them. So I went online and within about two days I Fedexed them the info. Then after not hearing anything from them I called the reg Customer service number and got an indian man again and they told me that my loan was assigned to this rep, and his Ext was this. So then I called this Rep and left him a Message (now 1st of August) To my supprise he returned my call first thing the next morning and said that he would not be my rep anymore because they had a new government program that I might qualify for and I would be getting a Package in the mail. Well in about a week I got the Package telling me what to send in. So I faxed this info in the next day. Then about a week later I called back and talk to a nice American lady, who told me that they had received the info, but were missing these things. I ask when they were going to tell me, she said that the info had been mailed to me. So I faxed the info that was missing. Then the next week I received I letter asking me to fax them some missing info. three days in a row. So each time I got the letter I faxed the info they needed. (now 1st Septmember) Then after all this I was looking on the internet and found this web site and got a good feeling to see lots of other people going through the same thing I was. After reading a lot of Posts I came across the info for Mrs Drakes Office and faxed her a letter for which i never got any replay. So I dug deeper and found Mrs Drake email address and sent her an email. Well about 2 weeks went by and I had not heard a word and out of the blue I received an email that the email I had sent to Mrs Drakes Office had been read. Then two days after that I got a call from Brad from Mrs drakes office following up on my email. He told me the Kimberly would be handling my account and I should be hearing from her and that if see had not called me in a week to call him back. He told me that my file had to be sent thru again because of a internal problem and should not be a problem to get approved. So after about ten days I started calling Kimberly and leaving meassages. Then last Tuesday about lunch time I got an email from Kimberly asking me to confirm my Account number because I left a number off. So I sent it to Her and she replied right away saying thanks and she would be intouch. Then Wednesday I emailed Her to check the status and she emailed me back within an hour saying My loan was in final approval and after my 3 trial payments that my loan would go from 9.75% to 2% for 5 years then to 4%. So I emailed back to ask what the Trail payment would be and when the final approval would be done? She again emailed me right back saying that starting 12/1/2009 I would have 3 trail payments of 1065.00. then the Mod would take effect and that she should have final approval on friday. So at lunch on Friday I emailed her to check on the status and again right away I got a reponse congratutating me on my approval and that I would be getting the paper work within a week. That is how I did it. One other thing I did was Pray to God for patients to wait and that is what I did. I figured "No news is good News."
