In reading over all the postings here over the past week or so, I remember seeing a few "direct" contact phone numbers for members of the home retention team, such as Jeanne Drake, Jim Davis etc... If you have a name and direct phone/fax number and e-mail address for anyone in the HAMP/home retention department at AHMS, will you please post it here. I think it will be a great help to all of us. THANKS!!! |

The only way to stop these predatory abuses is by taking AHMSI to court. |

I began gathering all of my documentation together and faxed all of the paperwork over to Jeanne Drake's office at the end of July. I called the next day to confirm receipt of all 36 pages and was told that it had been received and that a negotiator was being assigned. I called a week and a half later just to follow up and was told who our negotiator was and that she'd be calling within a day or two - which she did. When our negotiator called, she faxed over a couple more forms that she needed to submit our mod for the HAMP program. I faxed them right back and she called 2 weeks later (around Sept. 1st) to tell me that we'd been turned down for that mod, because while I am the only one on the loan, they took our household income into account and included my wife's salary. That put us just under the 31% cap under the Obama program. She told me that she was going to resubmit for an AHMSI modification and called back on September 4th to tell me that we'd been approved. We received the paperwork on Thursday and mailed it back on Friday. Our rate has gone from almost 8% principle and interest only to 5% PITI. We owed over 10k in property taxes. AHMSI incorporated that into the principle, as well as the interest for the two months that we were behind. They charged us $900 for the mod that they wrapped up into the new principle amount. We will have a step rate interest, eventually going up to 7% over the next five years, and staying there throughout the remainder of the loan (25 years). We got everything that we asked for in our hardship letter and are very relieved. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Our modification went very very smoothly and our negotiator was awesome. Good luck! |

Unfortunately I do not qualify for nor need a loan modification, so the home retention office would not be of any help to me. I was referring to calls made to other services. AHMSI started attacking me in a more insidious manner by adding bogus charges to my payment and making false reporting to the bureaus. I tried to get rid of them by asking to pay off my loan but they are refusing me that option. AHMSI et al are not interested in the loan payments that is why they will now and then play good guys and allow a few modifications to take place. Their target is to grab the homes by foreclosing. Just remember how the "big cats" hunt in Africa, they do not try to kill the whole herd, they target the weakest. When these are caught, the herd will actually stop running close by and watch the kill being consumed, totally unconcerned. It is now safe. People tend to have the same reaction, but in that case, the predators come from our own species. |

It sounds like you had a caring negotiator. Would you share her name with us? I haven't been assigned a negotiator yet and perhaps I could request the one who helped you! What was is that allowed you to be approved after initially being declined. Cheers to your new start! |

Hoever, he told me that they did receive it but that AHMSI is now contracting these modifications to India and that it will be a while before they look at it. Has anyone heard the same? |

Gosh dang it . . .I hope this is not the case b/c it's hard enough to communicate with those reps from India for simple things. Maybe Moe can shed some light on this. |

Is this true? We need a loan mod. and like now. We now owe for sept. and oct. and I,m worried that while trying to speak to these people and get whatever info and forms in their hands it may become too late and we'll lose our house anyway. Any sugestions on how to proceed or the best angle to hit this from. It appears I have a very small window of time to make this work, and cannot afford all the run around and B.S. that I see so many people have had to deal with while trying to get a mod. Any suggestions?? |

After being put on hold two times for a total of about 25 minutes I was given a number to send faxes to.ONLY PROBLEM THOUGH the number I was given was not an active number much less a fax number. It was not the number I see being asked about above. It was an 866 784-**** number. Why are these people such Aho***? |
