My AHMSI Story

Hi All. My story is pretty much the same as most others but I hope that I am close to the end.
STATS:
450,000 principal/48 years (never looked at the 48 yr. when signing contract)
9.25 adjustable rate
$4218.50 payment per month

Made last payment March 2008. My attorney sent in all modification docs on April 27, 2008. Called attorney weekly for update who in turn called AHMSI and got the "still under review" story. Finally had my attorney contact Jeanne Drakes office it took 2 weeks but Jeanne finally got someone working on my file. August 19, I rec'd a call for attorney saying that a MHA packet was sent out to me and that we had to resubmit all docs paystubs, statements etc. along with info contained in packet. On August 24, sent everything back to them. On august 28 I called Keith Corbin our negotiator and his voice mail message basically says that he is working on 200+ cases and if he did not leave you a message don't bother leaving him one, as he won't call you back. OK so I called Jim Davis office and spoke with Jennie just to see if they recd all of the paperwork needed. She was very nice and put me directly through to Hector Escabar who is Keith's supervisor. Also, very nice except he disconnected my call!! 10 minutes later my phone rings it is Keith who was very upset that I went over his head. Oh well, if he would have answered his phone or given me the !@#$%^&*() answers that I needed I wouldn't have had too. Anyway, he assured me that he'd look at my file and that he was working that weekend because his desk had about 167 files on it and AHMSI required that he get 30 cases done daily (sounds like an aweful lot). Anyway, on Sept. 2, I got a message from my attorney saying that she called for another update and was told that a trial plan was sent out to us on 8/29/09. And that our new payment would be $1,519.47. Sounded way too low. I called the customer service dept. on 9/3 to see if the info on the trial could be emailed since I don't always get mail from them (another tactic) sorry to sound paranoid, but I can't believe these companies. The customer rep tells me that he can't send out anything to me because they don't send out anything for the trail???? HELLO...then how would I know that I was accepted and how much would I pay. It was sobvious he was clueless, every question that I had he'd have to put me on hold but at least he spoke English. He was able to tell me that a payment in the amount of $2199.16 was due on 10/1, 11/1, and 12/1. But still nothing in writing. Back to the attorney........well not him but his assistant, she should work with AHMSI cause she is as clueless. She assured me that she would get to the bottom of this...I am still waiting, no call. What a waste of money. Unless you are in our position as the homeowner, I guess you do not have a sense of urgency that we do. I eat, drink and sleep this disaster. I need it to be over. I have to face bankruptcy after this. My life will not be back to normal for months at best. Sorry for rambling on but I have one more thing to add. On Friday when I got home from work I got a voice mail from the negotiator, Keith basically saying " Hi Mrs. M, I can see that you have been calling VP's again, I don't know why, I told you a packet was sent out and to wait for it in the mail" I did not call anyone this time but I felt like it. I wanted to call both Jeanne and Jim but I didn't. So today is the 6th no packet yet. I will wait for it until 9/9 if it does not come I will be on the phone again with Jeanne or Jim!! I will do whatever it takes to get this done!
Thanks for listening and please give any advise that may help!

Re: My AHMSI Story

Hi Dorim

You are not alone in your fight. Just keep calling them, do not let your negociator make you feel bad. If he needs to do 30 files a day so what.
Just see that he gets to yours. You need to dive for every loose ball.
My prayers are with you and your family. What state are you located in?
All the best.
God Bless.

Re: My AHMSI Story

TO ALL CONCERNED WITH AHMSI

This collection agency has wormed its way to a "lender" status by wheeling and dealing with some financial institutions but they have kept their mode of operation and their lying practices.

Any attempt to deal with them in an ethical manner is doomed to failure. They will pretend to work with you only to bury you deeper in debt and wrap you up like a spider prior to suck you dry. Their only goal is to foreclose on your home for profit, for themselves and for their patrons, the rogue banks which are helping them under cover. The millionaire who "officially" owns this agency would not have the power to break the law so blatantly and continually, unless he too was bolstered by more powerful crooks.

There is only one remedy to this monstrous destruction machine: A Class Action Lawsuit.
