    NACA successful

After attending the Make a Dream Tour back in Sept in LA, NACA has been helpful to me.

Made first trial payment with IndyMac on 9/27/09..Attended Make a Dream Tour on 9/25/09. NACA indicated that my lender will not reduce my payment since I am currently on their trial payment. NACA was right. I did get to talk to my lender and indicated that I could not afford to make the trial payment. It still too high. The rep. indicated that the trial payment base on my income. They did indicated that my loan will get permanent modify. Leaving the event feeling a little hopeful.

Today...My second trial payment is due in a couple of days. I was about to make the payment. When I got home, received a FedEx with another trial payment with lower amount. The letter indicated that after they meet with me back in LA, they have offer a new trial payment plan. I do not need to send in my second trial payment. I just make the new trial payment starting in Dec. No Nov. trial payment for me..At least, I can save for one month.

    Re: NACA successful

    vvcalgirl,

YAY for you! I attended the NACA No California event last weekend, but they were so swamped by us folks that not all of us were seen one to one. I attended their workshop and got their workbook but need to follow up now.

We too have an IndyMac mortgage, not purchased by Deutsche Bank, but still serviced by IndyMac. While we were waiting to hear about a loan mod, IndyMac filed foreclosure. Now we have been told by IndyMac we "do not qualify" for a loan mod per "HAMP criteria."

If you have any direct contacts at IndyMac or NACA who were successful with IndyMac, I surely would be grateful if you shared those. IndyMac has been very difficult to deal with---a different person on each call, no consistent information, and a lot of wait and wait and wait.

    Thanks!

I was denied by them once. I guess that I am lucky. I did not call them and just waited to hear from them. I was suppose to call twice a week to follow up on my trial payment, but I did not do that. The thing that got me this trial payment plan was that I keep on faxing over hardship letter several times. Then a week later, they sent me a modify trial plan. I keep on making phone appointment with NACA every two weeks and tell them to really help me in keeping my house. I really do not have anyone that I talk to. Here is a number that I have with IndyMac that they were helpful (800) 781-7399.

Update on my trial payment plan. Received phone call today and I was assign to a negotiator. He indicated that my file is priority and on top of his list. He handled over 50 cases. He also indicated that I have a good chance of getting a permanent modification. He will do his best to get me the figure that NACA offer (which I like).
    Detail of my loan:
    5 years ARM @6.5, loan amount $468,000
    monthly payment $3100.00
First Trial Payment Plan before NACA Help
    10/01/09 $2762.00
New Trial Payment Plan with NACA Help (Attending the Save a Dream Tour)
    12/01/09 $2300.00
It has been very good so far for me.

    Re: NACA successful

    Thanks for your responses, VVCalGirl562!

As I had written, we were turned down by IndyMac for a loan mod. They gave no official reason other than didn't fit the HAMP guidelines, which makes me wonder if the fact that we have 2/3 equity in our home hurt us. But it took them 3 months to decide to turn us down and by then they had foreclosed. They moved immediately to auction date, which we have heard is set for Dec. 8. On the phone they told us that IndyMac takes no "appeals" on their decisions.

NACA has been swamped these last months, as I am sure you know. But we have another telephone call with them on Monday, since we heard about the auction and I sure hope they can help us delay the auction AND get IndyMac to reconsider. I am hopeful hearing that you too were turned down once by them.

I did not have that phone number you gave so I will also give them a call. Somewhere on loansafe I read that the Texas office is more responsive, and maybe they are the ones you got help from?

I will also keep sending our hardship letter. Thanks for the tip.

congratulations! I created a separate thread to capture success stories which will help us identify any patterns. would you mind posting your results on my thread? if you include more details on who your lender and investor is that would be great. you can see the other postings on my thread to see what we are looking for.

i also got a 'trial plan' from wells at sacramento dream. I was told pay the trial and the trial flips to a perm. Did you get told or docd anything like that. they sent me a special forebearance which i signed and returned. wondering if all the docs again need submitting at the end so they can re scrutinize all the expenses and income or if its only a matter of just sending the income verification and the underwriter just does a cursory check and gives the perm. if they do a review again of all items 30-45 days is kind of the time, if they just 'flip' it to a perm with the underwriter just checking the main things, it could be very quick after the 3rd payment. Any ideas on the end process ?

was that a trial plan for HAMP or inhouse? I started my journey with Wells Fargo about 2 years ago....At that time I was told if I completed a 4 month trial that I would roll into a permanent loan modification. Let's just say that after the trial program ended I got stuck in a vicious cycle for 2 years until I finally got my permanent loan modification through NACA

the trial plan is in house and its thru a Naca dream event. Was told once by wells on the phone, it just within a week or so should flip to perm. I think i will ring them again and see if I can get someone to explain this type of plan to me. If it has to go thru review and other things, it is not the 'flip' type situation I am hoping for.

I recommend that you document everything and keep a call log. Wells Fargo in house modifications are different than the NACA or HAMP programs. If you are offering a modification through Wells Fargo then you should receive a package explaining the modification and terms. They will require that you complete 3-4 trial payments before the modification goes into effect. You want to make sure what you were offered is in fact a permanent modification and not a forbearance plan.
