| Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Just curious as I try to read as much as possible and have been for months but mostly see Countrywide and B of A on this NACA forum. Is anyone who has a Chase or WAMU/Chase loan having any success going through NACA for a modification or restructure? |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Hi Maire,
I'm now working with NACA after being denied twice by Chase for a HAMP mod. NACA submitted my file for approval on 9/22 so I'm now in another waiting game.
One a side note, Chase first denied me for insufficient income and than no hardship on my 2nd attempt. After the 2nd attempt I went into letter writing mode and filed a complaint with Jamie Dimon. This got my file sent to the executive team who investigated and came back with a 2nd insufficient income denial. Love how they backpeddled on that one. How can a person have no hardship and than insufficient income in the same breath? Whatever...that's Chase for you. I feel that Chase is trying as hard as they can to find whatever reason they can to deny these HAMP mods. The conversation I had with my negotiator at NACA pretty much verfied my feelings. Also, it looks as though Chase is not approving anyone for a 2% 40 yr loan. From what I've been told over at NACA, to have any shot at this at all you've got to show income to meet 3% for 30 yrs or they will deny you for insufficient income. Looks as though Chase is making up its own rules for the program but why should that come as any surprise? I don't know if there is any truth to it but it sure seems like it. My original application should have been approved at 2% for 40 yrs and my second should have been 2% for 30 yrs. Both denied. The application submitted by NACA shows enough income for a mod at 3% for 30 yrs so we'll see what happens and if the hypothesis is correct. NACA worked with me to tweek my numbers to get me at that 3%/30 yr benchmark. |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Guys, regarding "Status" Change on NACA accounts from IT Guy at NACA,
You'll love this. I sent an email to Bruce Marks and Kevin Winn . The IT GUY from NACA (His name is Scottie). He asked me to post in the forum his formal apology for the status changed alot of us experienced . He said they have pushing the servicers hard to do something with the submitted files as they have only been doing about 30% of them at any given time in any timely manner.
The servicers asked them if they could change the status on our NACA online accounts to "need documents" as in some cases they were missing documents. Well when they ran the program and sent the electronic requests to the servicers and they responded with which documents are needed the email coming back made the system "think" the servicer had submitted a proposal but they hadnt .
They were trying to help the servicers who cant seem to hire enough people to handle all the requests not only from them but from everyone. They said they are hitting the servicers hard to get more people, streamline processes and get on the ball so they can handle all of NACA's requests as well as any direct requests. The other point he made because I asked is why they are taking on so many other people if the process is so bad .
Well he said Mr. Marks wants to show that there are alot more people in this situation than is really being reported via the media. His idea is the more people he submits , the more people that show up at the save the dream events the more leverage he has to push the lenders/servicers to do what they need to do. Its not going to help right now but it will give them the numbers to push government and the lenders/servicers to get this straightened out.
Again he is formally sorry for what happened, he thought he was helping and it ended up causing a mess. I'm just the messenger but I guess I sent a good email. They have reversed the ones statused incorrectly but it cant hurt to email service@naca.com to find out for sure, they seem to be responding to that fairly quickly lately. Hope this helps. I really sincerely believe NACA is trying to do the right thing but on the other end they are hitting a barrier they are trying to break.

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Hi Marie,
As you know I am also working w. NACA for my Chase/Wamu loan.
Got nowhere on my own, involved Naca. First submittal was flat denied, as it was to low, tweeked numbers and resubmitted. Then when I recently checked my file, they resubmitted a different budget again.
I guess that means they are working on it. But I don't get a lot of info when I call in. |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | I'm working with Chase/WaMu and Naca. NACA submitted 4/24. It was denied because "hardship is not a permanent situation." Also, I made the mistake of mailing Jamie Dimon and in the e-mail letting him know that I was working with NACA. After that he (or his henchpeople) cut off the executive team from working with me. NACA resubmitted on 9/15. I talked with Kevin Winn, and he said that it was not sent as a new submittal, but an escalation. Their figures were pretty close to the same both times, probably because the first denial was so bogus and had nothing to do with the proposal. |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | I see mods come through for lots of other banks, but not chase. So it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I have been in this process since Jan 09. No trial, no communication, no nothing. |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | I have been at it with Chase since Nov. 08'. We turned to NACA in July of 09' and we were "Submitted to Servicer" on August 19, 09' Now we wait! Can anyone tell me if "MHA,HAMP and Obama Plan" are one in the same? I read that you can not get the HAMP plan if you are 12 months behind which we will be in November thanks to Chase dragging their feet! We have a 1st and 2nd both of which are owned by Chase (they told us this) so I do not think they are Freddie or Fannie backed anyway. I tell you as I read the NACA and Chase threads over the last 10mo. I do not think we are going to get anywhere and I plan on sitting down with the hubby this weekend and really discussing our plan once we get the auction date. No NOD's as of yet and I guess luckily we are in CA. as they can't just come give us 20 min. to move out as I have heard they do in other states. |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Another question...did NACA communicate with you what they were submitting to servicer before they actually submitted it to servicer? Mine was initially submitted to servicer mid-July...I did not see or sign off on what they were submitting and when I did see it online, the figures were completely wrong...like saying $3000 net and $600 gross income.
So I resubmitted all my income to NACA a couple weeks ago and this week I see that again they have submitted it to servicer without running it by me and it is wrong again. Not as wrong as the first time they did it but wrong. My problem with it being wrong is that it delays everything...why can't they run it by me before they submit it, I would have caught errors before they submitted ...how does that work for negotiating for us?
So have you all checked what NACA submitted for your budget and income and whether they are requesting a forbearance or restructure? |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Marie, You need to schedule a phone appointment online via your naca id sign in and when you get the phone call they will do a new budget or you can sit on hold with member services to do it but the wait is usually very long. I'd schedule more than one phone appointment as they get taken very quickly and then you back and need another one and it takes 2 weeks. Do that and also fax the corrected figures to them and make sure your NACA ID# is on all of it. The NACA negotiator will see that when it comes time to work your file and can redo it with the lender then. What they submit you for is usually the HAMP but depending the lender you could be offered a forebearance or a number of programs.Give NACA time to work but be proactive and call/email often and know whats going on. Schedule that phone appointment right away. |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Thanks franklyspeaking. I have been wondering how you all got a person at NACA to talk to. Four months ago I went to the NACA workshop then met with someone in the NACA office. They did not show me then what was being submitted, probably because they weren't submitting til much later. Took awhile for them to do anything with mine since they said there were people who were being foreclosed and I was not behind at the time.
After I discovered that NACA had submitted the wrong info the first time, I also had received the unaffordable trial payment plan back from Chase about that time and I called Kevin Winn. He said they would try again so I refaxed all corrected info plus most current paystubs and now it has been submitted wrong for the second time although not as far off as first time!
Tuesday I faxed over corrections and asked that they please call me before they submit to lender again. I also left a voicemail and emailed, so three points of contact. What they submitted this last time was almost the same as my payment before modification and they apparently averaged my YTD income and used that in the formula instead of using the last four months income which has been greatly reduced. The payment they suggested is reduced a little but since they used 31% of prior gross income that is not affordable but if they would make it 31% of the real gross we could do it.
I will call and leave another message tonight and call them tomorrow a.m. and put it on speaker while I wait for them...last time I called about the first submission being wrong, it took over two hours for someone to answer and that person just set me up with a phone meeting two weeks away that they then emailed they could not keep. I did go to the website on Tuesday to set a phone appointment but it would not allow me to do it, I can check again to see if it is now working.
I am thinking now that WAMU/Chase made the same mistake on this last go-round as NACA did and that is why they suggested such a high payment. I was denied the first time for insufficient income and the second time Chase raised my already unaffordable payment by about $700...from interest-only to amortized. I was trying to do it on my own since NACA had told me there was a long line of people ahead of me already in foreclosure and they came first.
I am not eligible for HAMP as I do not have a FannieMae or Freddie Mac backed loan - no investor, WAMU kept it and no mortgage insurance as I put a lot down, although sadly it is now worth about $150,000 less than what I owe.
All this said, I am extremely grateful for whatever help NACA can give me and I really appreciate anyone who can point out a better way to work with them. It does seem like I see other lenders doing mods through NACA but not Chase so please post if you are getting a mod with NACA's help from Chase! Thank you!! |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | I am working with NACA for my CHASE/formerly WAMU mortgage. After applying with CHASE in late April 2009, I was denied on 9/17/09 for not having a permanent hardship. NACA submitted my restructure proposal to CHASE on 8/18/09, and after I informed them that CHASE denied my modification, they sent another request to ChASE this week. Today I attended the NACA Save the Dream event in Los Angeles and got the opportunity to sit with my NACA negotiator (she is assigned to deal with CHASE) and the CHASE representative. The Chase representative agreed to escalate the status of my restructure request, and agreed with the NACA negotiator that my 9.3% ARM loan needed to be modified. I was able to get the email and telephone number of the NACA negotiator who is handling my case, and the CHASE representative re-submitted my NACA documents along with supplemental documents I wanted the underwriter to review. I was also informed that CHASE has a team of underwriters that only handle NACA proposals. I am hopeful that I will get some positive outcome from today's event. |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Marie: I have to wait and see IFanything comes out of today's tentative commitment to me from Chase. Since I was recently denied by CHASE I am much more guarded about any positive assertions from them. However I am happy I had a face to face with my negotiator from NACA, and I plan to email and call her directly for updates. It will sure be wonderful to not to have to wait two hours to get an update from the general NACA phone line. |

Frank | Frank good job on doing the work, getting the information and helping to clear up false gossip and so forth. Way to pay it forward!! So often everyone's emotions are so keyed up and they have had so many failures that a programming error morphs into some giant conspiracy theory! |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | CW.I was falling into that "myth" theory till I got the call which was a result of a blazing email I sent about how wrong it was to get so many people's hopes up only to find out it was a computer mistake but from speaking with them/the IT guy and others there lately They really do care and are trying to help. Their biggest issues are with the servicers. He said that they submitted over 10,000 cases to chase and only got 3,000 proposals/responses. He said they are all understaffed and they are pushing them hard to get the right people, enough people to take care of all this mess we all talk about each day on here. Bruce Marks is ready to take it to the executive offiices of each servicer and including the direct phone#'s /cell phone#'s etc if they dont get moving soon. He's very passiionate about helping us and thinks the banks have the money and ability to do so, and we know they do.
Marie, you need and should schedule the phone appointments with NACA but if you accepted the trial period with chase directly even if they get your NACA file (which by the way with Chase they email your documents and who knows who checks or gets those emails in a timely fashion) they will assume since you started with chase you dont need NACA's help . You need to be sure you tell NACA you still want them to negotiate for you even though you have the trial payment plan. Chase did with you what they did with you, told you to do that ,get you out of any type of foreclosure sale process and then get you on the "trial payment" train which never stops (according to the posts). I havent made my first payment yet and when I receive the documents will probably reject it and ask them to work with NACA, we'll see. Its hard to know what to do when your worried about losing your home and we all want the path of least resistence and quick but thats not always the best route. Keep on ,I"ll list some contacts tomorrow that will help you.

Thanks for your response Frank. I did not accept the trial payment plan from Chase, it was about $700 more than the original payment I couldn't afford. I have enough money right now to pay one month's payment at the incresed amount but that is it. The same day I received FedEx, I called Chase and told Chase there was no way I could afford what they had put together. Do I need to put it in writing and send it registered mail or something?
I have also told Kevin Winn that I could not do the trial payment plan from Chase. After I got Chase's trial plan I called and talked to Kevin Winn as I had also just seen the Budget NACA had submitted to WAMU/Chase and it was garbled...numbers transposed and did not make any sense. He pulled it up on NACA's system and agreed it was wrong. Kevin Winn was pretty sure Chase had made a mistake in their calculations as well. He asked for and I faxed the trial plan proposal from Chase as well our updated paystubs. Then I followed up with voicemails and emails.
Noone from NACA ever contacted me back, the submissions that were wrong had been removed so I am thinking they are just working on it. I continued to check the NACA website then it was saying on the website last week that my ID was invalid so I called and emailed on that and then this week there was the Submitted Budget and Letter Submitted to Servicer that has wrong income info in it. I have emailed and left messages again.
I was just at the website and now I cannot see the button where to schedule the phone appointment. I did see it on there day before yesterday but it would not allow me to click on it to set an appointment.
I was on hold with NACA for about an hour and half this morning and had to leave but will try again. I do not know about faxing as I think it just goes into your "file" and they don't even know it is there until they open it. I see there is a place to make a complaint on the website and maybe I need to do that. I am not sure why I have never been assigned a person at NACA. I think I have just fallen through the cracks here! |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Frank ...The trial plan was not thru NACA, it was thru Chase. I had been working with Chase Homeownership Center, first denied due to insufficient income, then they came back after I resubmitted and raised my payemnt about $700 over what it was to begin with. I think it took Chase about ten days to come back with that verbally over the phone, August 10th, then they FedExed the trial payment plan on September 7th, I received it on September 9th and the agreement letter was dated August 8th. The letter said that payment had to be sent and the agreement signed by September 1st. A little difficult since they did not even ship the FedEx until September 7th.
I have not paid a payment...I have enough money to make a payment right now but I cannot make the increased payments on an ongoing basis so I do not know what to do. I feel like the agreement was voided before they ever sent it out and sicne they had increased the payment over what I had to begin with which I was already almost 3 months behind then, not sure what they are thinking!!! |

Should I really be sending emails to all these people?
I did get an email from Lauren at NACA today saying "Your lender is now requesting proof of income for your husband and a letter stating the lender can pull his credit". NACA already pulled credit back in June and I have been continuously updating paystubs...why are they asking for it again? The mortgage is only in my name but I don't understand why they are pulling credit again...it will be horrendous ...but I thought getting a mod is not dependent on your score? |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Okay, I left a voicemail and faxed and emailed Kevin and Lauren and emailed the whole list as Frank suggested and got an email back from NACA saying to address any communication to only one person at NACA.
I have asked if someone at NACA could please just tell me if they have corrected the wrong info they submitted to my lender and no response.
Also, I am also wondering if the Chase negotiators who work specifically with NACA would be the same as the one who set my plan up with an increased payment even though it said in letter that "this plan is for your recent curtailment of monthly income in your husehold".
I finally got my workout done with the IRS and CAN make a regular house payment today but worried that doing so might screw everything up and when I called WAMU yesterday I was basically told that I had to make the trial plan payment as that was what was set up for me. No answer from NACA on any of this so I do not know what to do!!
Any other ideas? |

| Re: Who is working with NACA for CHASE or WAMU mod? | | Marie, Dont worry about the email they sent back. Main person to leave message for is Kevin Winn,Matt Mckinnon. Leave them both messages and send emails each day till you get the budget straightened out and tell them in the emails/voicemails the delimma your in. Kevin and Matt are both usually very good about returning calls . You havent spoke with them directly?
