Here's what this thread needs to be about..........are the save the dream people actually getting the documents and mods etc after the tour? I think what Naca's doing is great but my wife works with a lady who went to the one in Atlanta a month ago and still hasnt gotten final paperwork to do it. Could it be these end up like the rest fighting to get it done? |

It does take them time to do so. There were tons of workshops even in the Atlanta area (willing to drive) initially then it went to almost all were full or either significantly further out. I did my telephone counseling session because of this. The website is back up today.

As I dream and do the work to save our home, no one has come on this thread to say they have a completed restructure that came from one of these events. Has anyone posted on another thread? |

I have been updating my documents with NACA since 2008. My status on the website says submitted Nov. 2008 but I was told recently by a counselor I was submitted in July of 2009. I was given the name of my negotiator and told she would call me .Of course I have not recieved a call.Has anyone that attended the 2008 event gotten a modification through NACA? I have read some sucess stories from people who attend recent events so I am really starting to worry that after waiting over a year I may be denied. |

After waiting 8 hours I was given a voucher to come back to front of line tomorrow. I am hopeful as many people we getting up and telling how they just got a loan modification. some were in a fixed rate of 2% for 30 years!. I'm hopeful. |

I would not have this great news to share without this forum!! History: signed up for a local workshop put on by the Oakland Naca office. Then husband was laid off. Met with counselor anyway (mostly to go over budget) in March (yes, we dragged our feet - it wasn't Naca - stress makes everything seem more difficult.) The counselor advised us that there was not much we could do with my paycheck which covered just our living expenses and no housing) We were confident husband would get a job and within 2 months he did but then work dried up so our counselor advised we request a forebearance which we did. It was submitted in July. Never heard anything, phone calls diminished but we never got anything in writing so communication with Naca is best via phone appts. Okay, so husband got new job in Aug, so in Sept with 1 months of paystubs, I upload them to our file so we can officially submit a request for a restructure. That was 2 weeks ago when I happened to see the Save the Dream event. We rushed up on Friday 9 am. By 4 pm, we got our restructure from Bank of America and my friend just got hers also from BofA tonight! We went from a 6.5% interest only to a 2% fixed PITI, all missed payments added to principal, taxes due and insurance to be paid (added to loan amount) by the lender. $4037 Interest Only/Taxes/Ins to $2700 PITI fixed. We're done! (just waiting for good ol' fedex to show up!!) My friend just got her $450K condo (now valued at $250K) restructured. With the help of the FHA folks at the event: $100,000 Silent 2nd (she owes if she sells/or short sells) but no payments due on this, 3% PITI fixed on $250K. These are for the rest of the loan (27 years for mine, not 30). It's REAL! They will work with everyone who comes by tomorrow so bring:mortgage statement(current), property tax bill, homeowners insurance bill, paystubs (1 month), (or 6 months proof of income for self employed) Renter agreement (if you need to count renter income), budget, food/water (or they have expensive concession stands)..also bring hope, a smile, a good attitude, patience and trust. Major and some minor banks:Bof A, Chase, Citi, Litton, Wells, and more. After 2 years of nightmare: FREEDOM!! Affordable payment!!! LIFE !! Go to NACA.com I hoped but never thought it would happen for us but it has and it is so check it out! PS If you can't come tomorrow, NACA is still the way to go. Don't worry-just participate in your success and start with their website and workshop. PPS Even if one can't make it work, NACA has a home buyer program that cannot be beat: there is no 'lose' here! It is WIN or WIN!! Thank you Loansafe and Community for sharing honestly and informatively!! I've lurked for a while now. Don't give up! |
