I was not able to speak with my negotiator (Janice Rucker) of course. The person I spoke with told me I should be calling my BOA negotiator a lot! Hounding them she said, as NACA and Bruce Marks want to push them to make decisions by 9/8/09. So, the 9/8 e-mail may well have been wishful. It does not seem that there is a concrete agreement to have answers by 9/8 - did anyone else get this type of information from NACA (I know not everyone who answers the phone knows what is really going on). Anyhow, I then called BOA/CW to make the payment, since I am afraid if I leave the $ in my account it will be spent. The woman in Home Retention took the payment! ($20 by phone charge). She then told me the name of my negotiator! John Gilmore. She gave me an extension x8696, but it does not seem to be correct. Does anyone have the correct contact information for John Gilmore? She also told me my request and file are still being reviewed, it was doubtful any decision would be made by Sept. 8. My online account says Sept. 23. Anyway, looks like 9/8 won't be my day - but I hope it will be for some others! |

Start a topic on that. |

The only thing I've seen or heard was that mass email a couple of weeks ago... I didn't even try to call NACA...I saw that a lot of you guys did, and got nowhere so I figured why bother....Ughhhhhhhh... |

CW/BOA sent someone out to the house to take pictures (outside) for an appraisal. She left a note card telling us it was to update our files due to our recent request. Hoping that is true and that it wasn't something more sinister. Still can not get through to John Gilmore, or David L. Naca has no news. Oh, and my 9/4 payment has not been withdrawn from my bank account yet, hopefully because of the holiday. 9/8 has come and gone, I haven't seen many "success" comments from any other NACA filers, so I guess that e-mail campaign was not successful, sadly. Still hoping 9/23 (the date on my BOA account) brings good news for us. |

BOA offered us an interest rate reduction from 10.75% to 5.25% for the remaining 27 years of the loan! No penalties, fees, we are over the moon! It saves us $1,400.00 a month- it is actually under 31% for us, so we didn't expect such a reduction. We are so excited. We should get the paperwork this week Kevin already accepted for us. For those still holding on, keep the faith. I don't know who/what to be more thankful for - NACA, David L (who pushed the mod along at BOA), this forum, it all just came together! |

The 5.25 % might seem still high to some of you, but it is perfect for us. We were foolish to go into a refi two years ago that adjusted up to 10.75%, and it was such a struggle. We have been lucky to have two solid incomes (with some reduction due to the economy). In the end our PITI will be about 25% of our gross, much more manageable. We knew we'd never qualify for 2% as some people got in May (those days may be gone). We also have made a strong effort to live on cash for the past 6 months, and we've managed to pay off most of our consumer debt. Once the paperwork is signed and done, I look forward to starting to rebuild our credit (which was probably trashed by this journey) and put some TLC into our home, since we plan to be in it now for a very long time. Good luck everyone! |

I just wanted to ask if Mr. Winn was the one taking care of your modification? I have been working with Carrie, I have only received one email from her in this whole process! |

Janice Rucker is my NACA negotiator, John Gilmore is my BOA negotiator. I can only assume they worked together to get me this wonderful opportunity, but I have never received any correspondence from either of them, nor been able to speak with them. I have spoken to David Leighton twice. He pushed my file on to John Gilmore and made note of how long I have been waiting - so I think that helped get it resolved more quickly. I also spoke with two people from the OOP, both of whom made notes that I was with NACA, but I don't know if they put any pressure on John Gilmore to get the deal done. If you decide to call Kevin Winn, you probably will get his voice mail. Leave a message with your contact info. He will return the call. He has returned all three calls that I have made to him in the past three months, usually after 5 pm EST (his office is in Boston). He also seemed to have access to my account and information. He is very pleasant and helpful. Good luck! |

One question, did you actually get the forms already (fedex) or did you verbally agree with Kevin and he submit the acceptance? I ask because I accepted through him on the 17th, but have not received my fedex package from BOA yet. He said it might take a week or so. Then I would need ot sign and get notarized and send right back. Thanks, Vikingmom |
