Unemployed
Sometimes bofa will send out offers that are not in response to NACA to try to get you to take that instead of..... You can call NACA and ask them if they have received the offer.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Sounds to me like one of BOA's "BS" scare mod's that they try to get you to sign! But, according to Fannie Mae's guidelines you need to be at 31%...does this put you there?
I have Fannie too, scary stuff. Please let us know what naca says, thanks!

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Hi everyone!
Has anyone in May heard anything?

I finally e-mailed Barbara Dosoer this morning and heard back from someone this afternoon. Basically she said she could not tell me anything because I am working with NACA. Naca said not to call back until Aug 13th ( They said they can only request an update once a month)!
My BOA page still says active processing do not call until 7/09
The top of page now says NO DOCUMENTS FOUND FOR THIS ACCOUNT. It used to have the two documents (pay stubs and letter)

So, Im still waiting here... anyone else?

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

I emailed OOP on 7/2/09, got calls from a lady from OOP, then a lady from loss mitigation. They both said nothing they can tell me, just have NACA contact them.

Nothing happened since then, no update from either NACA or BoA.

Last Friday (7/31/09), I called the lady in OOP, she told me that BoA has made a decision and sent it to NACA about 2 weeks ago (from today), but won't tell me and detail. Called NACA, was told no update from BoA at all, nothing in the system for me.

Called the lady in OOP again today, she said NACA is pretty behind, maybe 2 months behind.

I still don't know if I was approved or rejected, don't know who to believe. Emailed negotiator in NACA, no response.

It seems to me so far, there is no progress.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

I am also a May submitted (5/17). I was able to work with the CW attorneys and they were well aware of NACA and their process so my sale date was postponed until September 1st. Once they received that info from CW/BOA, they sent me the information containing my negotiators information (Danielle Bell). To date...I have been unsuccessful in trying to contact her. Starting to get a little frustrated as I would like to know where I am in the process. the NACA website just shows the letter and budget submitted on my behalf and the CW/BOA website shows me nothing I get the "error message retrieving my account information" message.
From reading other posts on other boards, contacting Barbara D. at CW/BOA wont help either as if we're working with NACA, they can't assis. So...are we stuck in a black hole?

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

I was submitted on 5/29.....heard nothing and finally emailed Barbara D.'s office on 7/16. My file had just been sitting because it had been submitted under my second loan number instead of the first. Supposedly, it has been assigned to a negotiator, but have not ever spoken to him/her. I did receive a FedX this week from Workout Dept. with a repayment agreement for the second loan. It added $800 to each of our regular monthly payments for the next six months to make up the payments we are behind.. Not sure how they arrived at that amount because we don't owe $4,800. Anyway, called Advocacy Dept. and was told it was in fact an offer (???) If we cant' afford it, do not accept it and let it expire. So, like all of you, still waiting (not so patiently).

It looks like NACA stop getting approval from CW/BofA, I haven't seen any approval from them for a while in this forum.

Interesting. I haven't been around enough to have noticed, but I think you're right.

Today we finally accepted the HOPE dept mod we recieved last month. Never did get ahold of Carrie Crawford (neg) to get her opinion or get an update on our NACA account. Now, let's just hope we did the HOPE mod paperwork correctly. The notary claimed one of the papers didn't need to be signed/returned because are are in CA and got an additional page that he claimed was a replacement for the CW standard page.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

It's been a month since we were assigned a negotiator whom I spoke to (about a month ago). At that time, she'd really done nothing with the account as she'd just been assigned. I've not heard anything since. I've not called her (as I know I'll be told she can't tell me anything, but I have called NACA several times to request updates.

Really not in any hurry - it would be nice to resolve this but am enjoying not making a house payment that's ridiculously high. Unfortunately, we'll pay for it in the end if we accept their offer (which better be good) as it'll go onto our loan.

We're looking for a payment that either compares to rental rates or is similar to a payment on the current value on our home at 5%. We are so upside down ($500,000 - upside down) that that's the only way we can justify staying here.

Anyhow, still waiting like it sounds like the rest of us who submitted in May are.

Note - we've negotiated directly with countrywide earlier and turned down the step up (whatever it's called) offer they gave us. Short term fix - long term - NOT.

Good luck!

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Update! (It has been so quiet for a while for May submittals!)

I left message to the lady in OOP the day before yesterday and told her that there had not been any progress since I email VP's in early July, and I couldn't reach my contact in loss mitigation, who never responds to my voicemail. The lady (my contact) in loss mitigation called and gave me the negotiator's phone number and said I could call him or he would call me

Finanlly got the phone number of my BoA negotiator and called him yesterday! He was aware the I was going to call. Here is the story:

He said:"OK, let me pull your information from NACA, give me 10 to 15 minutes and see what options we have for you!"
I asked:"Can you make decision in 10 to 15 minutes?"
He said: "Yes!"
I said: "Really? Great!" Gee... they can make decision in 15 minutes!!! (My lona is owned "in house" - BoA), and I have been waiting for 3.5 months, they never looked at it until now!

So he called back in 15-20 minutes. He first offered my a forebearance plan, I said no, and told him I am a salary employee, my income won't change for a long time, there is no poit to do a forebearance plan. Then I asked him if we can do a loan mod directly, and he said: "Yes, we can do that!" Great!

Then he offered my 3.75% fixed for 5 years and $2800' for PITI, I asked shall it be fixed for the life according to NACA agreement, then he said:" Yes, we can do that!" And he said that was the best I could with NACA.

The payment of $2800 is more than 31% of my gross income, so I asked if he could make the payment close to 31%, then he told me yes, and that would be the government's program and only fix for 5 years. Then he offered me the 2% fixed for 5 years, and go back to my current rate (6.375%) eventually, which has PITI of about $2300, and no trial period!

It is $500 less per month than the 3.75% for the first 5 years, totally $30,000 less interest in first 5 years! It will be easier for we with $500 less a month.

So I told him that I would take the 2% fixed for 5 years. So there will be at least 6 to 7 years before the rate goes up to close to current market rate. I am hoping that the housing price will go back up in 5 to 7 years so that I can either sell it or refinance it if the rate is reasonable. Do you think I made the right decision, or should I take 3.75% fixed for life?

He also told me that they will run the 31% program and get it finalized in one week, if not hear back from him next Thurday, give him a call.

I was so happy and my heart beat so fast! Couldn't imagine how easy it was! In past 3.5 months, numrious calls but not getting anywhere, once you actually talked to the negotiator, it seemed like as simple as bargaining over a T-shirt! The entire conversation was about 10 to 20 minutes.

I am praying and crossing my fingers now. Hopefully they keep their words. I can't say it is a successful story until I really receive the loan mod document.

I will keep all of you updated, and hope you will get your loan mod soon.

I am so happy for you Windy!! It's about time one of us MAY people heard something!!!!!

I called NACA again yesterday, they said they had sent my modification to my investor -- and my investor informed them on Aug 5 they need another 2-4 weeks! So, I wait and call back in two weeks. I think my investor is BONY.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

I've got an update, too. I swear I'm almost entirely numb to this stuff, at this point. I don't even care what happens (that is a lie, by the way LOL).

So....We went to the notary last week. Mod was due on the 10th. There was a paper that the notary swore we didn't need to send in. That we are in CA and this other paper (that we did have) was in lue of this paper. He was wrong. Mod was returned. I called HOPE dept and they suggested that I hurry and get that page signed and sent back, and maybe they would probably accept it since it was a notary issue and would only be one day late, at that point.

Nope. Just got the paperwork back. Called HOPE. Got sent to Advocacy. She took all the info for a new mod. Says she can't even process it at this point because my account is 'locked' because of the last mod. She requested that the lock be removed. Said I should call back next Tuesday. I'm going to call NACA and see if they can help me (I doubt it, I have lost faith in them completely) and in a couple of hours I'll call David L (hoping the lock will be removed by then, not sure how he can help but I like him and I'm hoping he can LOL).

So.....cheers to another day......

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

WindyCa,
I am happy for you.Congrats on your mod. I am learning from you. I just left a message for the lady who called me from OOP to try and retrieve my negotiator's phone. maybe I may be able to talk to him or her and get whoever that person is to touch my naca file. It is good thing to know that some folks are getting help. It gives us hope and will encourage us to keep fighting. Like everyone else here, OOP is saying to me that they can't help me because I am with Naca. So your experience is a good pointer. You are right, these people are just not touching the files to do any work on it.Thanks for sharing it.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

priscilla,

Thanks.

You are right, even the lady in loss mitigation said she couldn't help me because I am with NACA, but she said she would try to get somebody who works on NACA files to contact me, and she did! She gave me my negotiator's phone number and said I could call him.

I think maybe it was because I complained to the lady in OOP about her (the lady in loss mitigation) no responding.

Anyway, I am grateful that she gave me the phone number and glad that I talked to the negotiator diretly. Otherwise, I don't know how much longer I will be waiting, and my application might fall into the crack someday.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Windy,
I spoke to lady from OOP on tuesday and she said she was going to contact my negotiator to have him or her work on my file. I just left a message for her, respectfully requesting if I could get negotiator's name and number. So Hopefully by friday next week, some progress will be made in that direction. it appears that the people under review for HAMP are not hearing anything. Based on what I read in this forum. BoA says I am being reviewed for HAMP. Wonder how long it will take and if anyone at all has received any kind of help through the HAMP program. we wait to see or maybe I should say, we struggle with our monthly payment and the stress of waiting to see.lol.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Waited for an hour for NACA and then gave up on them, it was 4:45 and wanted to get ahold of David before he left for the day. Glad I called when i did because he was on his way out. Picked up on the first ring. Man I love David LOL.

He says the HOPE team shouldn't have sent me to advocacy. That Advocacy shouldn't have talked to me. Because we are w/NACA. He said they are all stupid LOL. Not in those words, but a whole lot of 'Well they should have'. He says he's going to fix everything. To scan and send the paperwork I have (that HOPE sent back to me) and he would make things right and 'get this modification done' (cheers!).

He also said that the notary wasn't an idiot. That the CW paperwork isn't compatable w/CA law. That CWs system to deal w/ the discreancy is not effective. I've read that all before and not understood what it meant. Now I understand.

Just to chime in about how great David is and what a big help he is....he got us our Naca paperwork overnighted to us. He personally went over to the dept. and made sure it got sent out and we rec'd them today. We've been waiting over 2 weeks for them. He truly keeps his word all the time.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

I have much different issues. I called NACA and they told me that CW/BofA offered me a sweet deal and my payments should start in September and a negotiator would be calling me in about a week or two. I asked them what did that actually mean, they told me that I was approved. This conversation was in July. Still I have not heard anything and we are in the middle of August. So I called CW/BofA and they told me that they submitted a proposal on July 17th and heard nothing from NACA and resubmitted on July 27t and they still have not heard anything. So my guess is that NACA is sitting on something that could altimately change my life don't hurry just sit on it. (seeing that my interest in 10.25% and I pay taxes and ins separate) Oh and did I say that in Sept. my mortgage goes up to 2900.00 from 2420.00. I am so mad at NACA for just sitting on my paperwork and nobody will return my call. This is quite different than what I have heard on this forum. Any suggestions?

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Update: Spoke with David L. last Tuesday. He said the negotiators were waiting on the BPO which was done but not forwarded. He told me to call NACA for an update on Friday. Well I got through today and was told by the NACA rep that I have an offer and that the negotiator(s) needs to speak with me. The rep tried to get negotiator on the phone but they didn't answer. He says I should hear something this week. My negotiators are Janice Rucker & Carrie Crawford. If I don't hear something by Friday morning I'm calling NACA and David L. to find out what the offer is.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Another update:

Got a call from NACA from someone named Matthew. He gave me the details of my offer.

3.25% fixed for the life of the loan.
3.25% fixed for our HELOC (got the HELOC about a year after home purchase)

This lowers our combined payments about $520/month.

Matthew said I should receive something from BofA in 2-3 weeks. First payment due is October 1.

Re: NACA/CW MAY Restructure Submittals

Update on my file. Got a call from Matthew today and told me that my negotiator has been on vaca and then was doing the tour with NACA. He said they actually got paperwork from CW/BofA on July 1st, but he could handle my paperwork. He told me the offer was 2%interest for the life of the loan which would make my payments go from 2800.00 PITI to 1352.00 PITI. It is about time since I have been paying close to 28,000 in interest a year for 3 years now. He said that the proposal would be FEDEX to me and my payments would start next month. My other problem now is this months mortgage because I told them I was in trouble 2 months ago and have been paying my mortgage but this month I had to catch up on all my bills and definitly do not have the mortgage. I will have about 1/2 of it and my new mortgage will be due on the 1st of next month. Don't know if they can put this month on the back end of my loan or if they will just reneg on the whole deal. Any suggestions?
