    Legitimate Online Mortgage Lenders?

If you Google, online mortgage lenders, over a million hits will most likely come up. Everyone should know search results vary from day to day, and sometimes you don't know which ones are real or not. Has anyone ever come across an online lender that ended up being fake?

How can you tell if they're fake or not. It's very easy to make a nice looking site and make it look real. What are the features fake sites will have. What will they say as opposed to real online mortgage lenders? What are peoples experiences with using online mortgage lenders, and how do they differ from traditionally used mortgage lenders?

I'm selling my house. My mortgage is paid off and everything, and now I need a new mortgage, but I thought I might actually go through with trying to use an online one. My friends told me it's an easier process. Is this true either? I need information please.

    Smiley-

We've had good luck using "Lending Tree". You input your requirements and they find several lenders/mortgage brokers you can choose from. The last mortgage we got using them was done completely through emails!

I'm sure others will post their suggestions here, too!

    Good Luck!

There are many small mom and pop shop brokers who have websites. Then there are the big companies like Dbarr mentioned like LendingTree.com, or Quickenloans.com, Ditech.com and also keep in mind that traditional lenders such as Chase Mortgage, Citi Mortgage and Bank of America Home Loans etc offer online mortgage applications, info and e-services that you can perform all online.

With that said, any big lender can offer you legitimate online service to complete a home loan easily these days. I would stay away from companies you never heard of or websites. It is just too risky these days.
