Smile Re: Who Do We Blame for the Mortgage Crisis?

Hello,
There's a lot of contributing factors in this Mortgage Crisis.

1. War in Iraq - The President gives more than billion a year since this war started and who knows when it's going to end.

2. Federal Reserve - if they lower the rates we're in trouble, if they increase the rates, it's a disaster. They are virtually powerless.

3. Predatory Lenders like Countrywide, Option One, Citi etc

4. Investors like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac etc.

5. Appraisers - they overappraised homes like mine when it's only worth $300k but they appraised it at $486k.

6. Homeowners - some homeowners mistated their income, they borrowed money from their equity to accumulate another property when they know that they cannot afford to make payments.

7. Real Estate Agents and Brokers who worked with lenders like Countrywide and tricked people into signing documents, huried them up so they can sell it to another lender to make money, what a love of money can do to people.

8. MOTHER NATURE - Every year New Orleans, Mississippi, Florida and other countries are being hit by Storms like Ike, Katrina, Gustav, Hanna etc and do you know how much money the government is spending to help these states to start all over again, if they can ever start all over again, we're not talking millions here but billions of dollars losts and lives too.

How about the earthquake, tsunami and other disasters in other countries, America has to help them too because that's the decent thing Americans must do.

9. The Congress, the Senators, the President and leaders of our country - each contributed to the downfall of our eonomy, the democrats and the republicans alike needs to set aside their differences and to stop and think what is best for this country. If they have only listened to each other to regulate what needs to be regulated, to fix what needs to be fixed and to listen the cry of the heart of each homeowners, PLEASE HELP US BAIL US OUT, but adamantly, the President No we will not bail out the homeowners but RATHER bail out all the crooks and the greedy and the banks whose main purpose is to charge MORE INTEREST, MORE PENALTY, MORE FEES AND CHARGES to STRUGGLING HOMEOWNERS LIKE YOU AND ME.

It's too late for those homeowners who killed themselves because the President said NO BAILOUT FOR HOMEOWNERS.

It's too late for those whose homes were foreclosed.

It's too late for those whose homes were sold thru Short Sale like ours.

HOWEVER, IF THE BAILOUT OF THESE CROOKS AND GREEDY BANKS AND INVESTORS WILL HELP THE REMAINING STRUGGLING HOMEOWNERS MY PRAYER IS MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND BLESS YOU AND HELP YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND THAT THE HOMEOWNERS WILL ONCE AGAIN HAVE PEACE IN THEIR HEARTS AND MIND.

MY PRAYER IS THAT MAY GOD BRING BACK AMERICA WHERE IT USED TO BE THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY, THE COUNTRY WHO IS FREE TO SPEAK, FREE OF PRESS AND RELIGION, AND EVERYTHING ELSE AND FREE FOR ALL.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

Re: Who Do We Blame for the Mortgage Crisis?

Hey Faith, glad to hear your opinion!
I don't give up so easily, however. I will keep writing my congressmen about helping individuals until I get help and get the answer I want. Since I will be in a Ch. 13 BK payment plan for five years, I will have a good long time and a lot of motivation to keep writing. I think everyone who wants help should keep calling and writing Congress. It is supposed to be OUR government, but it can't be if no one is telling their representatives what they want to be done. I know they haven't been listening, but you have to keep at it, keep calling, writing, don't give up. If it takes torches and pitch forks, that's what we need to do, but someone has to care and take the time to do it.

CaughintheMiddle,
I did. I wrote letters to Sen Clinton and Sen Obama about Countrywide and my problems about my house but no response.

I wrote letters to Sen Boxer no response.
I wrote letters to Congresswoman of Hemet, no response.

I wrote letters to President Bush, I have received a responsed from his Director but only referred me to the Director of Urban Housing, who in turned referred me back to Countrywide Hope line.

I wrote letters to Vice President Cheney the same thing.

I wrote letters to Senator John McCain, he responded twice and said that since he is in Arizona he cannot help me and referred me to Senator Feinstain because of some State jurisdictions and courtesy.

I wrote letters to Senator Feinstein she responded scolding me and telling me that if I have a problem with Countrywide Home Loans that I should be contacting their Customer Hot Lines and then she told me to check her website which I did, but that site has no help at all.

Do you know who helped me in a mighthy way? Thank God for Loansafe.org and I found wonderful moderators like Moe, ***, Professor Shays and Andrew and they basically gave me all the helpful tips and information how to email, fax, call and deal with Countrywide Home Loans. They were all patient with me. I've used all the informations and help they gave me and I sold my house via Short Sale on July 9, 2008.

So don't depend too much on our leaders and Congress, their words say IF I AM THE PRESIDENT, IF AM THE VICE PRESIDENT, IF I AM THE SENATOR IF YOU VOTE FOR ME I WILL MAKE SURE THAT I WILL HELP YOU AND SO ON AND SO FORTH.

You know what, their words is just a word but they don't mean it from their heart. They cannot do anything for my country, they are only their for themselves. Especially Obama and Clinton. At least Senator McCain responded to me twice, but Obama and Clinton did not.

You, me and the rest of us need to help one another through God's help and the LoanSafe.org and Moe, *** and Professor Shays and Andrew. That's the best thing we can do for one another and for all of us.

Thank you for listening and God bless.

Re: Who Do We Blame for the Mortgage Crisis?

Don't be fooled by what's happening this weekend. The bipartisan bailout "save the world" plan is just a necessary strategy change by the crooks that run the system. When the government, investment banks, consumer banks, federal reserve, insurance industry, from the top down, are corrupt, anyone downstream in the system is doomed. I hate to wax conspiracy, but there is simply no other explaination. Crimes were committed.

I didn't lie on my stated income. I bought a home to live in, not on some investment gamble. Yet still, I will crash and burn.

There should be a new court system established, to investigate every single person from the home owner, real estate agent, appraiser, termite guy, home inspector, title company, mortgage broker, county recorder... Everyone, EVERYONE! And if you broke the law, you should be convicted and sentenced.

The more research I do, the angier I get.

Google: the Fannie Mae, Freedie Mac investigation report from 2004, that warned of the collapse. Some of the text in that report is beyond belief.

Google: Henry Paulson and Goldman Sachs and the huge amounts of money that were paid to the then newly appointed Treasury Secretary in 2006.

Last week, I saw a preacher on TV telling people that: "god told him to have 15 people call in and send him $1000", and their financial problems will be solved. He said "even if you have to put it on a credit card, the lord will save you from your financial problems." Disgusting. And the IRS protects people like this???

Until corruption is addressed, there is nothing the little guy can do. The little guy loses no matter what.
