Post How to Add a RSS Feed to Website

An RSS feed is an easy way to add content to your website to boost its ranking in the search engine results pages. This particular element of your site will allow readers to read summaries of news from various sources regarding those topics that you have chosen and are relevant to the content of your website.

Here are the steps to follow when adding an RSS feed to your site:
    1. Get an RSS reader. This is a program that will put together all of the news items in a certain location on your site. You can get this software from various sites such as RssReader - free RSS reader displays any RSS and Atom news feed. After this, you can choose the topics that are important to your site by simply clicking on them.
    2. Look for topics that you want to focus on using the Yahoo search engine. If the article could be used for an RSS feed, you simply copy the web page's URL.
    3. You then go the website Feed Informer: Mix, convert, and republish feeds and use the URL as input for them to provide you with a code that you will be using for your web page. If you are knowledgeable about programming, you can also get the long page of code that they provide.
    4. The final step is to activate Microsoft FrontPage, use the Insert feature for a web component and paste the code that you obtained from Feed Informer. This will add an RSS feed to your web page.
However, you should remember that if you choose Javascript as the code to add an RSS feed to your web page, that it cannot be recognized by search engine spiders. Therefore, you would not be able to improve your search engine ranking by adding an RSS feed.

It is also vital to remember that Javascript requires the running of a script on another server and that if this server experiences problems, you RSS feed may not appear or will take a long time to display.

Re: How to Add a RSS Feed to Website

    Hi!

I'm starting a web site for vacation rental owners to submit tips and ideas in a forum. I'd like to add a database that the members can leave a rating based reference for past guests. There is no web site for owners to go to get references and we have some horror stories!
What software do I use to produce a form where the results will automatically go into a database? What is the best forum software?

THANKS MOE FOR YOUR GREAT WORK!
