Legit ways to make extra income

In the past, I have done quite a bit of research trying to find a way to make a little extra money online.

Most (and I mean MOST) of the advertisements you see about how to make money online are nothing but scams.

Just thought I would share some info in case someone doesn't know of these ways.

Ebay is good-- but in today's economy one has to be careful not to let all those listing fees for unsold items---turn into a debt. Point is -- price it to sell it the first time--- and be prepared to sell it at that price.

Craig's List-- I love Craig's List. NO Listing fees. Just be careful of the scam artists. When I list an item, I usually ask for them to leave their phone number when they reply. I started doing this because when I replied to their email---- seems like my spam folder got larger. Personally speaking, I have never had a problem using Craig's List. I've met some pretty cool people, too!

Surveys --- BE CAREFUL about surveys! There are a FEW, just a very few surveys--- that are on the up and up.
I did get lucky when I was filling out some surveys, they gave weekly prizes and I won $100 once. I was scared to cash the check, because the check came from England. I researched before I cashed the check and didn't see any complaints, so I cashed it and it was a good check. But, this particular survey no longer exists.

It is now part of Polling Point where one can earn rewards after you fill out enough surveys. This takes time and they send you a survey via email.
You might want to check out this link.

YouGovPollingPoint | What the World Thinks

To get $100 --one has to earn 100,000 points and each survey lets you earn 500 pts per survey-- sometimes more.

Now, I am trying to learn more about blogging.

The only way to make money is to SELL. Most people enslave themselves to others who either manufacture a product, provide a service or information of some kind...YOU need to do this for yourself. Put together a reasonable business plan that maps out exactly where you want to be in six months, a year from now etc. and the steps you need to take to get there. Decide where and how you will reach your target market and GO FOR IT.

Ebay Amazon Blogs E-commerce all options if you want an online business.

Craigslist...is good for some extra cash
Surveys...no real return for the time and effort

laldana!!! Blogging for income can be a tough gig. Generating enough traffic to your blog to make it worth while is what it comes down to.

Yes, blogging, if done right can bring in a great income. I am doing that right now and I am no one special. Just a man with an idea and intense work ethic.

When I first started my blogs, I didn't earn income for the first 6 months. I was very hesitant to place ads on my website, so I started a loan modification processing and mortgage audit company in 2007. That soon became infiltrated big time by fraudsters and scammers to the point that legal authorities were going after everyone.

So in early 2009 I decided to close down the brick and mortar business to focus solely on LoanSafe.org and LoanWorkout.org. Google Adsense and some other advertising offers were placed on my blogs and I haven't looked back since.

My income monthly in 2007 averaged around $0-$2,000 a month to feed a family of four. I don't know how I made it, but I just kept blogging, helping and paying it forward.

This now has translated into an actual business where I employ people. I'm now well over $20,000 per month in online income.

Some of you think you have it bad or cant do this. I say if I can with my past issues and problems, YOU CAN. I still have not met a person on this forum who had the deck stacked against them like I have. The reason I say this is not to make light of all your situations, but to motivate you into action based on my hard luck story

I have been homeless. I dropped out of school at 17. No college. Lost multiple properties in 2002-2003. Criminal record. Bad credit. Past substance abuse issues. Divorced. Lost my kids and got them back.

I get knocked down, I immediately get up and fight. I DO NOT give up and I DO NOT stop working.

You have to be able to spot trends and predict futures to make it online.

In 2007 mortgages and refinances stopped completely. Everyone I knew could not get out of debt or their mortgage. I knew there Had to be someway to fix these loans. I studied and found out about loan modifications.

I had a AH-HA moment. I knew loan modifications and loan workouts would be huge in 2007 before almost anyone in the world even heard of a loan modification. There were no websites, that week I started my websites and worked daily at perfecting my craft.

My business model is simple. I help people in need with free information and support. I pay it forward and the KARMA has come back to me a million fold.

I am not perfect. I obviously have my flaws and past issues. But if I can do this, ALMOST ANYONE can. The reason I say almost is because MANY people do not have the patience or work ethic to work on something for months with no immediate monetary return.

Building a website is akin to building your own home with no mortgage in the woods. It may take years to build, but that sweat and blood equity will pay off BIG TIME when you are done.

20,000 WHAT a month??? Can't even get my head around that one! Moe, I think I've told you before that I'd like to do something like your site, but for part-time and "adjunct" college instructors, who, like myself, are treated like sh!t, are paid about half what full-time colleagues are paid for the same number of teaching hours, and don't know IF and to what degree they are going to be employed from one semester to the next. Feedback? Thanks.

Oh, and I surely don't need to make 20,000 buckaroos a month, now or ever! I'm talking supplementing here-- and having a fallback for bad semesters.

Re: Legit ways to make extra income

I think that is a great idea and that is where it all starts.

Please keep in mind that I employ four people, including myself makes five. After you pay employees, other costs, taxes etc., that 20K quickly goes down. However, I still earn a decent salary when all is said and done. I am grateful.

My life has been really rough. I have been so poor, I had to often get food at food banks and help with utility bills. So, I am very protective of my "idea." Which essentially is simple intellectual property that is called LoanSafe.org. Many people have tried to copy my idea of a forum where homeowners could tell their stories and that is fine. But, I just have to ban people who are members or are steering members that I have worked so hard in procuring to their own websites. I have to do this because it is a business now and I have to protect my livelihood which is website traffic.

There are a lot of older members here that just do not get that and think I am censoring people. NO, I am protecting my livelihood and this website is that livelihood which is a small business that helps people through foreclosure.

My belief is that you get paid what your are worth in society. Meaning the value, work and help you provide others translates into income. With that said laldana, go provide your peers value and that value your provide society it will turn into income.

We cant wait for things to happen, we have to make them happen.

    I wish you the best!

    Moe,
How does blogging works? I used to have my own website as a travel agent and Lycos was my site builder and it has a lot of ads on it at the time I did not understand it. But it did not draw people on my site and I closed my business and so is the site. I paid Lycos $25+ a month, the web.com states it's free domain but it's asking for my personal info and email and phone and credit card number and I have to pay $11.85 a month for 6 months plus $1.95 a month to register for protection but it doesn't say how much the charge will be after 6 months and what it will cover and if that is the only charge I am going to incur, no contact mailing address but only phone numbers. I am interested to make a legal extra income but I want to make sure that I can trust all this sites. Can you recommend a reputable web design company, etc? My daughter lost her job too and we are really barely making it, have to open a Walmart credit account just to buy food this month. My checking is only $9 left and $35 in savings which I will transfer to my checking acct tomorrow so I can put gas on my car.

Thanking you for all the help and information you can provide. As always God bless.

    Regards,

    Faith

Zander - Yes, wordpress is good and that is what the home page of LoanSafe is ran on and also LoanWorkout.org. I recommend that has the platform.

Faith - I use GoDaddy.com to host the website which now runs about $2.99 a month for basic plans. You would have to register a domain name like mine is LoanSafe.org and also pick a niche you would like to write about. Then you have to research that niche to see if one day you can make money off your writing and or website.

As far as blogging, you are doing that here. I blog about loans, foreclosures and loan workouts. What interests you Faith?
