If anyone has seen this story about the NY man who became so deperate over his mortgage that he performed a crime, or if you havn't...here is a link to the story and video.

I don't condone the action...but I understand the feelings. I've been there. I can admit to having had those fleeting thoughts in the past. When I'd see a Brinks truck...in the bank watching all the money being pushed around...

For some, a house is simply an investment, for some it means so much more than that...it's a measure of protection for those you love. A safe haven..it can become a member of the "family" itself...and the urge to do whatever possible to protect that can become overwhelming.

The shame and guilt a person can feel over having "failed" in the care of that can override that part of us that knows better.

I don't think I am expressing myself correctly...but when I saw this..it made me think. I could relate to that feeling of desperation that would drive someone.... I probably would not be chosen to be on the jury for that trial.

IMO...which is not always so humble (I can be a big mouth) It just makes a place like this all that much more important....I wonder if that man had any idea Loansafe even existed...that there was a place to vent and get help. That people like Moe and Cat could offer suggestions and help. That others feel the same desperation.

It was wrong..it was an illegal act....but, has anyone else felt that desperation here?

You expressed yourself fine man. This just shows how truly desperate someone can get to save their home, their dream and the shelter for their families. A man and many woman have this trait ingrained deep in their psyches.

Protect their homes and families with their lives if needed be.

I do not condone violence either, but can understand how desperate someone can get to make a "bad" decision based on emotions, stress and the primal instinct for shelter.

I am sure that many people have, are or have thought about bending the law or in fact breaking it to save their homes. This just means that we are human and we have sometimes thoughts that we must fight and think rationally.

Intense pressure and stress can cause people to do some amazing things. I don't condone behavior like this either, but it 'is' understandable.
