question of notification??

Does your bank have to notify you by mail ( certified) about a proposed sale date on your home?? I have read many scary stories about mortgage companies foreclosing on people and they didn't even know about it. My notice of default was dated sometime in mid September. I am going to file chapter 13 anyways because we just can't get caught up on everything else anyways but I am still wondering about this. ( bankruptcy lawyer says I have lots of time but I am still worried)

Re: question of notification??

Hello mintdeer. I am not sure if the letter has to be sent certified mail. There is a thread on here regarding foreclosures. Hopefully, you can read some of the information here and find what you need. What state are you in? Hopefully someone will read your thread and can give you some guidance. Re: question of notification??

Yes they can say it was sent, usualy they just post a letter on your Door, you need to check in your County Court House to see if there are any sale on that home

familiarize yourself with your state foreclosure laws. It makes a big difference state to state regarding what notices are required.

Unhappy Re: question of notification??

I'm in Washington state and I've tried looking it up online, I think its 90 days after you receive a NOD??? But I am not sure. Why do we not get this letter certified but the NOD is?? Seems that this would be way more important info! I will ask my BK attorney I guess.
