VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

I got the following email , a violation notice from Yahoo Answers.

But what did I violate?

Did I violate because I mentioned "LoanSafe.org" ???????

Someone was asking about a modification and she had recently lost her mom------and I tried to help answer her question. See my answer below.

It is my understanding that all it takes is one or two people to report an answer and it is removed. And I believe there must be some bankers or someone who didn't like me mentioning LoanSafe .

Just thought I would pass this along.

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

Exploiting the community
Yahoo! Answers is a place to gain knowledge, not customers, page views, or dates. If you have years of experience in something, have a special hobby, own your own business, or if you are a knowledge partner, it's OK to accompany a good, on-topic answer with a link to your website, blog, or email to offer more information. However, it is not OK to post links that are unrelated to the topic or are clearly meant only to solicit others for personal and financial gain. Also prohibited are solicitations like "Will you add me as a contact?" or propositioning people. Read more

I would contest this. And it would be appreciated if you would contest it for all of us on loansafe.org.

this is not a money making machine -- it's a community forum as well.

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

I would contest it too. There maybe a problem because there are ads on the first page of this site. Maybe if you just put "loansafe.org" there will not be a flag because there is no www. OR maybe you could refer them to the forum at loansafe.org
I don't think it's a bank as much as a computer generated thing

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

I will contest this, but I have to word it carefully because I have appealed to them before and they don't seem to really read the appeal.

It tells you to cite your sources, which I did and as you all know, LoanSafe is very, very relevant when it comes to discussions about saving homes!

I will keep you informed.

I just like to spread the word whenever I can !

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

I've never used Yahoo Answers but just logged on. Couldn't find a question to answer about loan mods so I could see if I got booted, too. but when I searched "loan modification" on their site, Moe's loanworkout.org was the fifth on the list. So that's weird that they would ban loansafe.org.

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

I appealed.

We will see and I will keep you posted if you like.

In my opinion--- this is NOT actually Yahoo--- I believe it works like this.

Someone is reading and all they have to do is hit "report abuse". I believe it takes at least 2 people to hit the report abuse button and it gets automatically removed.

I have posted some opinions on there awhile back and my answers were being removed. And then some similar answers are never removed.

It all depends on who is reading the q & a.

I try to keep an eye on the section "Business & Finance" end then the subsection of "Renting & Real Estate". I do this because some people are looking for help with their homes and you won't believe what some of these people said to them. It was awful--- just awful, some of the responses. But I don't see many questions about modifications on there much any more--- maybe because of some of the ugly, rude answers.

One lady did email me and told me how much money she sent to some "loan modification company". I told her it sounded like a scam. So sad, I just can't stand people taking advantage of people like that.

Anyway, I did appeal and told them that I cited my source to back up my facts and that LoanSafe was a legitimate website and all I was doing was trying to help.

We will see.

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

Not sure why this would happen. Perhaps it is because you added a link to another forum. Maybe in the future, you can just say, visit loansafe.org (instead of the Home Loan Forum - LoanSafe.org) - an actual link. You are a sweetie ohhhdear. Helping people on other forums and mentioning this website. I wish more people had the time to do that too. The more members we have who are willing to stand up and fight, the better chance we have at being a voice to be heard. Keep it up.

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

Thanks Native,

Links are generally not a problem.

Yahoo says to cite your sources and links are ok, unless you are promoting your own website.

I have posted many links and none of these were removed--except for LoanSafe and one other website.

It just depends on who is reading the questions and answers and whether or not they want to report you.

Oh, well, I try. My heart is in the right place.

Re: VIOLATION NOTICE from Yahoo

In case anyone is following this thread---- here's an update.

Yesterday, after I received the violation email--- I did appeal and also found a couple of other questions regarding a complaint about Chase and another question about a short sale.

So, I answered and this time--- when I referred them to LoanSafe--- I didn;t use the link-- I just used : "LoanSafe.Org"

GUESS WHAT?????????????????????????

THis morning, I received TWO MORE Violation notices!

Here's the emails I got from Yahoo. This time they included the actual question & details--- and they did NOT give me the "appeal link", but a link to contact Customer Care, which I will do.

This isn't right--something smells! What do you think?

Question: Ok, so my house has been vacant for like 2 years now,no payment has been made, do i still have to pay 4 water?

Question Details: I got divorced, and the house's deed is under my name, i cannot afford the payments, so have not paid for 2 years, the house has been vacant for 2 years as well. I discountinued the electricity and heat and water but i still get a bill every 2 months , around 100 dollars for water services, like sewer etc, but i don't use this. financially, i'm a mess after the divorce, and a 100 dollars for something i'm not using is not fair. i've been trying to sell this house to a nice family for the past 2 years, but chase wont' respond to the short sale requests and i heard are trying to foreclose on the property. no answers from the bank, i call the water company they say its the city sending the bill...if i just dont pay, other than credit, how else can this affect me/? What do i do?

Deleted Answer: I am so sorry to hear this and I have heard very similar complaints. about Chase I don't know about the water. For more info, there is a very trustworthy website with lots of Chase customers in a similar situation. You might want to check out LoanSafe.Org . Good luck to you!

Question: Will a bank come down on a sale price after appraisal?

Question Details: I am waiting on a short sale the asking price was $139,000 The bank ordered the BPO & it came back $175,000 All the comps that my realtor and the listing realtor pulled said that the house should sell for $145,000 tops! We have agreed on the $169,000 asking price by the bank, but with a contingency on the appraisal coming in. Now we think the house will appraise at $145,000. If it dose, Will a bank come down on a sale price after appraisal? The bank never really knew what the home was worth on the first place! When they find out what the home is worth will they come down? I agreed because that was the only way to move forward. I now have a chance to get an appraisal done and show that the BPO the bank had done was not accurate and my original offer of $139,000 was solid. The only other option was give up and move on to another house.

Deleted Answer: I honestly do not know. There is alot of info about short sales in a forum at LoanSafe.Org Good luck to you.
