Has anyone ever had the experience of having an outside caller break in on a conversation without authorizing it with call waiting? Was on a business call this morning, heard the beeping, ignored it and suddenly a credit person was on the line, demanding money (we already had paid it, sure it was sitting on someone's desk)...anyway, I am flabbergasted...isn't this illegal? Called our phone people and got the call waiting disabled, and that guy seemed to think so. |

I would write them now certified letter and say in no way shape or form are they allowed to intrude on your call. Call the Exec team and let em know. I hope you got the name of the collections person. It is my belief that to break into a call, they had to have told the operator it was an emergency, and that is, I believe (though could be wrong) illegal. quite frankly, I'd file a complaint as well with your regulatory agency. |

We have a relative that is executive assistant to AT&T Operations VP in TX. I'm sending this info to her. She has helped us in the past with a bad mistake by AT&T. Her boss will NOT like what happened here. Will let you know what transpires. Arlyn |

I wish you could sue them for damages. I thought calling my receptionist was bad, but your situation is even worse. The guy who called my work gave me an incorrect address when I told him to stop the calls. He said a letter was not necessary that he was not going to call again. I still sent a letter, but it was returned by the post office. Good luck to you. |

The credit place that got through into the call was HSBC-this was not a credit card but an installment loan, which was not overdue til the 24th, even though we sent it on the 12th. Thanks, guys, for the replies and will let you know what I can find out with any responses from my emails/letters. |
