I have been a wreck and more horrible to live with than I thought I was capable of. Now I want to dismantle and get out ASAP. Lots of stuff will be left behind. The broken dreams and ugly reality. I have been given lots of support from others who have walked before me down this road. Never did I think I would find out the bank would not even take the default money plus legal. Unreal. Finally got an inheritance and could pay back but they said NO. So someone will one day live on the property I was first owner of and get my deck and views of Mt. Diablo with no rear neighbours and use my Koehler toilets, enjoy my large tiles in my bathrooms. Obama did not make the banks work with upside down homeowner's since the banks obviously have some sort of sinister agenda. For all of my cyber buddies; Moe, Professor Shays, all you guys who ever tried to help I thank you from my heart. You were there when I was freaking out, trying to offer help and this means much to one who needed you all. I hope you get my message, know that you are really friends even though I never actually saw your face. Amazing. We who have been through this are a special club. We were the first wave of burned Americans. We have lost lots of hard earned money and the security of having our own home. In the Bay Area of California it was a stretch to think one could have a home if you didn't make tons of cash. Some of us did it, some have signed 40 year loans and some have been kicked to the curb. I hate losing this but pray there will be some kind of positive someday. I wish you all the best. I hope for us there will come a peace of mind soon. I'll check in sometimes. Take care, Cristina A. 925girl |

I am so sorry to hear of how it all ended for you, after all you had already been through the past year. Your lender seems to be one of the worst, in the manner it was handled. I agree with you that the banks seem to have a sinister plan i.e. most likely make more profit by foreclosing than modifying. But, I am one who believes (like many others here) that foreclosing is probably the wisest financial deicison for distressed homeowners and also that your inheritance will likely be better served by not pocketing it with a predatory bank now or ever again. With your inheritance in hand, you are off to a great start in rebuilding your financial future. But, I do not want to minimize your pain in having to leave a home you love and put much TLC into. If I were you, I would take any expensive items I put into it (like the door) that is removable (unlike the beautiful tile) and replace w/ cheaper items. And, yes, we are the "first wave of burned Americans" and I know for myself, it will never happen to me ever again. Somehow I feel the same with you. Like us all, you have learned your hard lessons through all this, and you will never be victimized again. Kudos to you and I wish you the best of luck. Somehow, as time passes and you have moved on to a much better life, not being emotionally tortured day in and day out, by these predatory a-holes, I think you will feel such relief and hopefully, finally happiness that you are out from under your bloated, 40 yr, loan mod and one day in a similar (or better) home worth half, with reasonable, fixed rate terms. My hat's off to you. You fought the good fight. Give yourself a pat on the back. You did your best. Better days await you. YOU ARE FREE!!!! Believe me, life can only get better from here on out ... I'll be in San Francisco if you ever get there I'll bring you to some real Irish pubs for some conversation. That will be one good thing-getting back to being with city folks. The house was big, new and beautiful but it's not mine anymore. Now after I get myself to stop acting in a bad soap I will turn my attention to getting out ASAP. It brings me way down to be here.....Is there a way to do private email so if you get to the city you can call me? I know we could have a great chat...Everyone always makes it to San Francisco at some point........ |
