newbie here. Contacted Chase for Loan Mod???

I am so grateful to have found this site. I had a question about Chase Loan Modification.

About two weeks I talked to collections dept at Chase since I am currently two payments behind. But not 60 days past due. She took my info and said that I pre qualified for a loan modification. She told me that I would here from my case worker within two weeks and have paperwork sent. It has now been two weeks and I haven't heard anything. I am still planning on making a payment next week so that it will post before Feb 1st. But as usual come Feb 1st I will again be two payments behind. My question is how long should I wait before contacting chase again about the loan modification paperwork. I have not even been given the dept phone number about this.

Thank you for your help

Re: newbie here. Contacted Chase for Loan Mod???

Do not wait for them they will never call! I was(am) in the same sitch and I waited a month and called back only to find out my original phone call was to Early Loss Mit.(they transferred me to that dept. when I called???!!!) and I should have been in Loss Mit. I have now sent my hardship letter, paycheck stubs and Homeowners Ins. Declaration page to my contact and apparently she has packaged it up and sent for approval but say's it can take a few months before it will be done and I should keep trying to pay. They did ask for 1 months payment to show "Good Faith" I am 3 mo. behind and was told I would not be foreclosed on as they "do not want our house"This is who I am dealing with at Chase, Jessica 800-437-4892 ext. 18306. Now keep in mind that both our loans (80/20) are with and owned by Chase. It might be different and a different contact if your loan is owned by an investor and only serviced by Chase. Good Luck!!!!

Re: newbie here. Contacted Chase for Loan Mod???

TY...I have the person name and direct number of who will be handling my file. I tried to call today but his Mailbox is full. I contacted customer service and they told me there was nothing else they could do. I already sent in my Dec Payment yesterday, but come Feb 1 I will again be two payments behind. I am trying my hardest not to go 60 days past due. They told me that if I go past 60 days that they will not accept a one month payment. Well now I don't know what else to do but wait. I know they are busy there but I can't believe that his voicemail box is full. Any suggestions on what else to do?

Thank you

Re: newbie here. Contacted Chase for Loan Mod???

I am over 60 days past due and they just accepted a one month payment but I think they really are doing it case by case because sometimes I read on here stories re Chase modifications and they are different than what I am being told. It probably depends on your loan and who owns it.Good Luck!

Re: newbie here. Contacted Chase for Loan Mod???

Well I found out who is handling my file at chase. I called again and again and finally the voicemail box was not empty. I left a message on Friday for him to call me about the status. Well to no surprise, I haven't heard back. I know that they are very very busy so I am not going to take it personal. I guess its true that you have to be persistent. Is there anything else that we can do at this point? TY

Re: newbie here. Contacted Chase for Loan Mod???

You started the process through the collections dept................you may want to call the number that I posted above to make sure that you are dealing with loss mitigation.............the Homeowner's Assistance dept. will be able to get you to the correct dept. for your file.
