Wanted to look for possible TILA violations or try a mod, and I can't seem to find my closing documents anywhere. All I seem to have is the Note and the Note adendem. Does anybody know where I can get a copy of all of them? Title company, broker, original lender, or current servicer / owner? Will these "copies" do me any good, or am I out of luck because I lost them? Or is the note good enough to find potential violations? Any input anybody may have would be appreciated. Thanks! John |

You can do what is called a QWR (Qualified Written Request) and send it Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested to the Customer Service address of your servicer.............send it by itself and not with your payment. In the QWR you will ask for copies of your loan file and closing documents.........click on the link below for sample letters of what to ask for............... I did have to call the original broker to get the name of the company. It took over 2 months for WAMU to resond to my QWR, and I wanted them immediately. HTH Lisa |
