I currnetly working with Lenders to try & salvage what I can, but this servicing company is way out of line....

How do I get them to stop calling me?

How can I submit a complaint and or preditory lending practice complaint...

I know they are not a lender, but something needs to be done...

7style, welcome to the forum! You don't list any specifics so I can't really advise you about anything. It's important to remember that if you do not pay on time, they can and will call. Complaints do little. What you can do is request in writing that they contact you via US Post only. If you are not paying as agreed in the mortgage contract you signed, I'm not sure you have grounds for a complaint anyway - under predatory lending or any other cause of action. Modifications are not law and the lender only has to abide by state regs on notifying you during the foreclosure process if you are delinquent. Nothing more. Do not fall for the misconception that their goal is to help you and compassionately sympathize with your plight. That would make them a charity, not a bank. Start a thread listing the specifics of your case and maybe someone can help. Good luck!

Seems like is is administered by a firm call Ambac, and the trustee is Well Fargo. Funny thing is MERS doesn't list anyone of these folks as the owner of the loan. So who knows. Is there a more secure way I can provide my contact info to you? Like I said GT does check these boards, that is how ruthless they are. I would send a letter back to Greentree, a copy to Bank of America, a copy to the US treasury, and also to whomever the investor is on your primary loan (1st mortgage), get a copy to your local senator, and to your state attorney general, a copy to the comptroller of the currency, and a copy to the FHA as well. Make sure you list all on the letter in address portion so they can all see who's received a copy, make sure you send all certified and save copies of the certified receipts so they can't say they did not get it.

In the letter dispute the debt, tell them you cannot afford payments, request a modification or settlement in line with the one you got from bank of america on your 1st, include the docs you got from BOA in regards to your modification and send it to all the addresses as certified mail.

It's funny that BOA modded your first and then sent the 2nd to Greentree. Looks like they are letting Greentree hold the bag. I don't see any way how or why Gt would attempt to foreclose based on that action. They seem to be an over glorified collection agency, and not a true home loan provider.

    Hello Guys,

I am not sure who to turn to for assistance with what I need to do. Maybe someone on here has some experience with how to approach this.

I have a 2nd with Green tree. I received a check from my Insurance for Storm Damage. BofA is 1st and GreenTree 2nd. BofA did not even hesitate and endorsed the check over, GreenTree in the meantime wanted the entire check and they want to keep the check.
My Wife and I have not endoresed the check yet and we already have contractors ready to go. Just need to get the check endorsed so we can allocate however we want the repairs to be.

Is there a way to have my insurance company re-issue the check w/out green tree on it? I really despise them. They wanted BofA to sign the check, have my wife and I sign the check so they can control the funds. Does not seem right. Meanwhile I have half my roof with no tile.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Dishing it out to Green Tree

I may being doing very little, but I'm doing what I can to dish some of what GT does to others back on them!

This is for all of you who are hurt by the games Green Tree plays with you:

I'm strategically defaulting on my underwater home, so my 2nd with Green Tree is, of course, not going to get paid (2 months now). At first I ignored their calls, but then they started calling my work several times a day, even after I told them to stop. Then called my wife's work. So....

As I put together my Cease & Desist letter, I decided to play some games with that soul-less being "Peggy" at Green Tree. I called her, pretending to be a poor country bumpkin who was so scared and didn't want to lose his job. I have played cat and mouse with her for days, saying I had sent the check, going to the bank to stop a check so I could then pay by phone, and then not calling her back, I've told her to hold on while I went to get my check book, and then just set the phone down....and didn't come back. When I call and get someone else, I just leave messages for her that make no sense and that I will be out the rest of the day. This is for all of you people. They deserve the runaround too!

The saga continues Monday! I will keep you posted. The Cease & Desist letter arrives certified to their offices on Monday by 3pm, I wonder how long it will take to go into affect? (I will make sure to get my "goodbyes" into Peggy and let her know she just got out-foxed).

    Hello all,
Hoping for a little insight/advice. I am very new and uneducated related to anything on the home loan front. I'll try and give you the short version of the details. Please let me know if you have any advice.
-Began trying to get short sale approved around 6/2010. HSBC is 1st. GreenTree is 2nd.
-We experienced all of the same rudeness and unethical issues discussed above with GreenTree.
-After working for months to get the 1st to meet GreenTree's demands regarding the Short Sale approval we were informed that the representative that claimed to be our contact does not and never did work within their short sale department. Our new contact claims that we need to resubmit all of our information and must pay to avoid a charge off which is scheduled for next week.
-Can anyone tell me what the charge off would mean? Could they somehow force us to pay them even though the 1st has not foreclosed?
-Any advice on how to handle or if we should begin looking into bankruptcy?

    Thanks in advance!

    Green Tree Mortgage - Morons!

Green Tree Mortgage is a joke. They won't attempt or even look into giving me a loan mod on my decreased income, (lost $10,000 a year) because my mortgage is a 2nd with them and not a 1st mortgage.

I owe GT about $38,000, from an original balance of about $70,000. GMAC holds the 1st, and they are reviewing me for a loan mod now. I'm not holding my breath however.

So GT is willing to risk losing $38,000 by me stripping this in a Bankruptcy filing. The value of my home and what I owe GMAC are close, but my brother, who is a BK attorney, told me there are tricks, and more than likely I can get this stripped in a BK case.

My credit will take a hit, but oh well. I can live with that for a while.

Keep up the GOOD work Green Tree! see ya in court. LOL
