I have seen 7 and 5 days referenced in various places. I'm curious if this is something they stick to hard and fast. Next Friday is our auction date and it looks like we won't be able to get the paperwork together until Monday.

I do not believe there is a hard and fast rule, but you are coming very close for comfort. It may be too late because once the foreclosure ball is in motion, it is often hard to stop. But there may be play room and I have seen many auction cancelled or stalled in these type of close call situations. Just stay on the ball and think positive that it will happen, but also keep in contact with the servicer and or lawyer handling the sale if you can.
I wish you the best and good luck!
