what happens if you file bankruptcy after signing loan modification?

I'm new here I have a question about signing a loan modification and filing bankruptcy. My husband and I signed a loan modification agreement with OCWEN- in the past few months. June was our first month of making the new payment. My question- can we file bankruptcy and ask for a reaffirmation on the house- and still hold the loan modification agreement?
We recently occured thousands of dollars in medical bills- we were in rough shape before the medical bills- I think this is going to sink us...
