Any NPV Success?

Has anyone actually run their finances through the NPV test, got it to pass and had the bank do the same?

I'm asking because I'm on my 5th denial and on the last 3 IMB/OWB told me it was due to NPV failure. Once for not enough income, once for too much and another one they weren't sure (no visibility into specifics of the results).

When I run it, I pass.

I really appreciate everyone posting their explanations but has anyone been able to 'make it happen' or ultimately are their so many variables you never really know?

Thanks,
OC

Re: Any NPV Success?

These NPV Tests are the FDIC model which is NOT used by HAMP.

It give us clues but some of the input is secret as is the exact model.

As of 1/1/10 if denied there are supposed to send a letter showing the details or our input that went into the NPV but we don't know the secret assumptions in the model.

They are suppose to give you a phone to discuss any errors and have they have a 30 day window to respond and have to hold off sales. If they follow the directive which often servicers don't.

It is rumored to be "based" on the FDIC model but not the same.

DavePHX - that is VERY interesting. I wonder why he said he didn't have any details.

Thanks both.
