While on that same phone call the Wachovia person said I would be contacted within 10 days by someone in there department to discuss if we qualify for a trial mod and in the meantime they were sending me a packet with HAMP docs in it. The blank HAMP docs appear to be a formal application and that got to me within two day of our initial phone call. They probably didn't get my packet of stuff until after they sent the blank HAMP stuff. Have not yet heard a word, been about 10 days and I don't know if I should send in the forms filled out and re-send my stuff that I originally sent within 24 hours of the phone interview. Any recommendations? Thanks so much. |

A couple days later I recieved the packet, got the forms together and returned to them three days later. Later that same day I recieved a call from Wachovia asking if I recieved the package and if I had any questions. My only question was how long for a determination of eligability. I was told it could take up to 30 days. So far its only been a week since I sent the info back to them. Not sure if this helps, but thats been my experiance so far. |

Saturday, went to a City of Oakland NID Housing Counseling Housing Agency Home Affordability Clinic. All the flyers and website touted "On-site Loan Modifications". I get to the clinic at 6:30 am. By 9am the line is around City Hall. They let the masses in and NID systems seem overwhelmed. I'm #12 in line. I get 15 minutes with one of their counselors. This is a joke. he tries to review my totally complete documents for accuracy. I get no legal advice. I also get a folder that states that B of A and Wachovia WILL NOT do onsite modifications...I feel ripped off already. The worst part was, I had my hardship letter taken by the NID counselor???? I had prepared all the docs they said to bring for the lender. It took a week to compile a hardship letter and retrieve P&Ls and tax records for two businesses, W-2's and unemployment documents...etc. WHAT CONCERN'S ME MOST IS ALL THESE STRANGERS ARE PAWING OVER MY MOST PRIVATE INFORMATION AND I HAVE NOTHING ON THEM! NOW I'M CONCERNED ABOUT IDENTITY THEFT WITH NO RECOURSE. These clinic people are subcontractors for the government. They had tons of "volunteers" running around and I have no proof they are qualified to look at my information. Now Wachovia/Wells can tagged me as a loan laggard and I've received nothing in return. I got no business cards from the "banker" when I asked. She looked at me pathetically and I said, "Oh I get it, I'll never see you or hear from YOU again, right?" "Well yes" she replies. After four hours I leave with nothing except a WAMP number at Wells which answers to a collection department. I have a non-Freddie/Fannie loan. I put down 25% on this property and bought low. I'm still underwater...where is the help for people who had skin in the game...Now I feel like the idiot! Of special note: There was a quasi-lawyer handing out cards and veiled promises of help in suing the mortgage companies for damages and forgiveness of loan!!!!!!!!!! A modern day ambulance chaser and he wasn't even a lawyer! I will report on day two..going to check to see if they got my request on Saturday via the electronic filing by the "banker". |
