Anyway, I went to the county recorder website and saw: 1. July taxes not paid - this was when we started the mod and assumed we were not to pay...?) 2. The mailing address has changed to First American Real Estate Tax Service, whereas just a couple/few weeks ago it still showed as our address (we are still listed as the owners at our address). Any thoughts? Thanks in advance if you may have any idea; I'll be calling them Monday anyway... |

If there was never an account set up, then it would be your responsibility to take care of the taxes. If you did have an escrow account, calling your mortgage company and asking them why they did not pay your property taxes is the next step. Smart of you to check with your assessor's office on this piece! |

The shortage they have sounds about right from the July amount until October of next year, although the dates are only from Nov-Oct., 2010. I was just nervous that all the bills were going elsewhere, even though it makes sense. Thanks for your reply! |
