First let me say that I am an activist and have been before any of us encountered these economic meltdowns and mess with modifications. My history dates back to the 60's. I in fact did sign these petitions as well as having met in person with my elected representatives because I do act. Secondly I have received two extremely hard fought modifications and remain on this board AND helping others in my community even though I have prevailed. Now to address the concern with people not signing. I did not like the calling out of people who were simply reflecting on the true reasons that they should sign and in examining the documents carefully. Just as I do not let the banks pressure and intimidate me I do not want members of this board to berate me because I take a careful measured look at the facts and the purpose etc. I thought our purpose was to help each other be successful and not to divide our ranks with peevishness. I believe we need a different approach of encouragement and discussion and not what we got from some members. My last point is that my senator Roland Burris send a response back indicating that he and Senator Durbin were addressing these issues. Earlier I had the assurances of my representative and our attorney general as well. Thanks and that is the end of my rant. |

I have received no communications from them and until that time comes I will continue to send letters reminding them that they were sent into public office by the people of Main Street and they should be listening to their cries for help. My style of activism seems to be quite different from yours. You are taking their word for the fact that they are "handling" these issues. I do not see that any of them are helping us. I would like them to come on the forum and speak for themselves. Address these issues and tell us directly what they are doing to "Handle these issues". Why would they send you, someone who has posted 4 times to answer for them??? This is cowardly and a complete avoidance of their responsibilities as elected officials. I don't think they even REALLY know what the issues are from our perspective and it appears they DO NOT CARE!!

I just know there are a lot of Fox, Beck, Hannity fans here and they may take these as a personal attack. My goal is to hopefully open everyone eyes that NO corporate media is really on Main Street's side. Heck, they have ads to market and big, BIG $alarie$ to pay. OK, back to the petition. Has any media responded???

You are WOMAN, hear you ROAR!! Thanks for all you do for loansafe.org !! http://themortgageinsider.net/loan-modification/home-owners-petition-congress.html ffice Author: catherine Comment: Thank you for getting our voices heard for our reality on Main Street. Having gotten into my predatory loan on a lie, to months of working with my servicer before it adjusted that result was more lies, false hope that ultimately set my family up for foreclosure. Make no mistake that is their goal. The result for working hard, doing the best we could making all our payments until it adjusted was the worst emotional hell I have ever been through. I have begged for honesty and straight answers, but realized that will never happen. If the powers that be do not step in and make them accountable for their hidden agenda's homeowners are the ones that keep losing. It is amazing to me how long the process takes to get denied help or the scam to pretend your being helped from high interest rates to the perfect timing on banks/servicers end to get your home to auction. All this started to scam American's with no real change to stop it. Forgive me for being tired of broken promises and no accountability for them. I wish anyone who got a loan set up to fail there was a way to stop this with a simple fix for these loans and give America their lives and dreams back. At the very least a level playing field. What we get now are rules that change so no matter what you do you lose, Catherine

More traffic means the Business Section, then on to the Front Page - reach out. Housing Crisis : Pictures, Videos, Breaking News And Moe, no disrespect intended to you: I don't care who anyone is a fan of. We all make our choices. This is not a question of fans, talking heads, or political allegiances. It's every man for himself and we have to advocate for ourselves and force them to listen. We've been doing this for a year and finally might have a mod we can live with - we may be back in the middle class. You know, one income and can buy a steak every once in a while. It took us going to war every day (EVERY DAY) for a year. Was it worth it? I'm still deciding. If it doesn't help to inspire others it really wasn't. But I do know this. We got what we got because we wouldn't go away and made noise and yelled until they shut us up. It's not over we still have a little fight yet, but we're almost there and I can live with that for now. I'm not here for me - and that's not martyrdom - it's why we fought and went public to begin with. YOU HAVE TO FIGHT!!!! And when you fight you have be be prepared to lose. |

Together we stand..... you know the rest. We can make a difference. I don't think it is too difficult for all of us together to believe that things need to change. Thanks again for signing the petition. The more signatures we have, the better chance we are a force to be recognized. |

This is not a party fight, there are no right politicians or wrong politicians. There are effective politicians on both sides of the isle. There are those that stand firm for the people that they represent, and those that allow their party lines to dictate their behavior and thier votes -- and those include the lobbiests that give and give and give to parties to hide their dirty work. THIS CRISIS is about the Amerian People. Homeowners, tax payers, businesses and employees. Wall Street, Main Street. Middle America was most heavily impacted because we are the bulk of the class structure. But, make no mistake, everyone was impacted. A handful of the richest, got richer, everyone else has suffered as a result of the fruad and risks taken by our insurance and mortgage industries. This is about a cry for CHANGE from the masses. This is not about the specific WORDS in the document/petition, it's about having a VOICE that says THERE NEEDS TO BE A CHANGE. THIS IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. Please stop with the political pointing -- sign the petition. Leave a note about the Huffington Article -- we need a VOICE. DO IT! Peace and love
