If I set down and write a petition to the government on behalf of cabinetmakers and you have only just started. Are you just going to take my word. If you do your a fool. A wise person is going to want to know just how I came to my conclusions no matter how right I may be or how much time i have put in writing it. So it is with this thing Especially in a time when there are so many voices screaming from so many places. Mine included. People coming here are being told all kinds of things and are scared. hell I can't figure out a lot of it yet since there are no definite steps to take, Every modification is a mishmash of steps. And that could be one of the points you make. I should be out working right now instead of being here LOL Just teasing!! |

The excuses for not signing this are not only ridiculous and lame, but make no sense. The petition no matter how it says it, what detail is in it, which politicians you agree with? That was my favorite. "I'm not signing it because my politicians and I don't agree." Really? And that's a stand you can be proud of? "I don't want to sign my name?" Will you want them to know your name when the bank takes your house? This isn't going to McCarthy for the love of Pete. I have an idea. How about we write one in big bold red letters that says "your friggin' plan isn't working ... you schmucks." and call it a day - then will you sign it and give your name and take a stand to save your home? |

I hear you. When I signed the system told me I was the 6th! It's a very sad day indeed when people would rather close their eyes and plug their ears than fight! COME ON PEOPLE. Don't think for one second that your voice does not matter. We need each and every one of you to sign. We need your friends and family to sign. The petition will create more transparency which is what we need in this current crisis! We need one model and we need the guidelines transformed to the rules that lenders and servicer's must follow.

Also on both petitions I just used my last initial since for business reasons don't really want who I am to be easily found. On one they do an e-mail verify so really don't need full name. Actually I believe on one of them your name was confidential on the public board or had that option as I recall.

You need a "product" that provides a solution for people in "need" of that "product". You need to "sell" the benefits. If you haven't convinced the person, then you haven't clearly stated the benefits or you misunderstood the need. With that being said, the rebuttals to signing the petition are quite varied. Some people have stated reasons for not signing are political, they don't think they should have to, etc. One of the delimma's with interacting on-line is that you don't have the advantage of communicating face-to-face. You can't read body language and adjust your message accordingly. One thing that I do know is that no matter how much you plead with a person, if there isn't an incentive in it for them, they won't act. You have activists and you have pacifists. Some people don't believe they can make a difference because they are just one person. Some people sit on the side lines and want to wait to see what happens. What is sad with all of this is that you can have a meaningless email with a joke pass from person to person-forwarded 100's of thousands of times. Yet a petition, sent to our leaders who are supposed to represent US, can barely get 116 signatures. We all know the saying, "if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem." Look, I could go on and on but having worked in the very industry that profited from mortgage backed securities, I see behind the curtain. I simply cannot sit by regardless because I believe that if I can help one person (even if I can't help myself because it's too late for me) than that is my duty as a human being. To help my fellow man/woman is an honor. My family came to this country because we believed in the American Dream. If you put in hard work and put your mind to it, you can do it. So, I signed the petition because I believe that a free market does not work, which is why we are in this situation. We do need a certain amount of regulation because these for profit companies care about maximizing profits at the expense of others. It has clearly been demonstrated time and time again. Enron is a perfect example. That is why we need transparency. Plain and simple, you want taxpayer's money then you better play by the rules. I voted

The folks on the action committee consistently believe that we must continue to fight our individual battles, but realize that this problem/economic situation and specifically the mortgage crisis has touched every American homeowner; and we need system changes that will amend the situaiton for every individual homeowner... Enron is still alive and well under the guise of accounting practices for our banks. They are holding property values listed as their assets with the original home values and mortgage values -- in many cases foreclosing and holding the property on their books at original market value. This is criminal. Our banks have collapsed, and if they accounted for current market values, defaulted mortgages, and foreclosures appropriately, they would be bankrupt. That is the true picture here! It is all smoke and mirrors, and it is going to catch up to them in the next several years. I will ask you not to be part of the deception, and move to have a voice, so that action will be taken NOW to levelset. Fixed rate 30 year mortgages at current market values would be a start. No more trial mods would also be a great move, give us permanent mods. A period of foregivness for those that have lost their jobs as part of the fallout of the banking industry irresponsibility. Regardless of your personal situation and what we individually find as an amiable solution, it is obvious we need change now in order to help every homeowner. We can all agree -- foreclosures need to stop immediately until there is a final resolution. Join the fight to be part of the collective so that we can all stand up with an active voice to SAVE OUR HOMES for the American People! Thanks!

I love the fact that this forum is gaining more and more attention in the media. By the way, I noticed some of you added the link to the petition under your posts like it's a signature or something. Forgive my ignorance but are you just copying and pasting the link under all of your posts or are you doing something else? I think it's a great idea to reference the petition and would like to start doing the same. Thanks! |

I agree with taking the banks to task but I also believe that after that the government needs to get out of the way. I don't see that happening. If it comes to choosing between my freedom or my house you can have my house. Doesn't mean I wont fight for it.

The feds ARE going to get changed if we keep pushing. But right now we need to try to open their eyes to this since they can pass laws to change some of it. It may not work. but it is damn well worth a try.

Your comment: "So far all the press has been on every radical left wing blog and board." I'll respond with: Why isn't the right talking about this? Why isn't FOX covering foreclosures, with the exception of Hannity telling Moore that it was greedy homeowners trying to get rich that caused this mess. He was referring to us. Put your political alliances aside and make some noise. I can't believe a statement like "If it comes to choosing between my freedom or my house you can have my house." Where's your freedom going? What happened to it? Oh, that's right. The liberal socialist communist marxist na*is took it away. Or they're trying right? They're in a huge race to strip us all of our freedom with health care, and laws. Big scary laws. You're given one chance to fight and that time is now. For whom the bell tolls, ask not what your country ... and all that. Screw who's in office. Obama the magic negro is in office who cares. Make some noise and get this thing to congress with 1,000,000 signatures and I guarantee you even Glenn Beck will cover it and call it a Tea Party.

They are complicit criminals in the raping of Main Street over the last 10 years and did absolutely NO REPORTING on these crimes. Fox, Beck, Hannity and O'reilley and Wall Street are ALL IN BED PEOPLE!!! Screwing one another as they laugh to the bank. All they did was push Bush's lying wars on us and terrorism threats, as our rights were taken away and the bankers looted the country. NO ONE can dispute this fact. Now, they want to save the Constitution and fight for the people. LIES, LIES AND MORE LIES! DON'T BUY INTO THEIR FALSE HOPE! THEY ALREADY SOLD YOU OUT OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS!!!!! Fox is nothing but propaganda machine for war and mega corporations under the guise of being fair and balanced. Oh and now to protect the constitution, pleeeeaaaassssseeee!!!!!!! Now, it is all about helping the people, stop big government and tea parties. Anyone who doesn't see the hypocrisy in Fox or Beck is putty in the propaganda machine. Glenn Beck, Hannity and Oreilly couldn't be farther from Main Streets reality than anyone on earth, yet the masses go to them for information. I just don't get it. It is like going to Bernie Maddoff and asking him how to make an honest investment or asking him to invest your last $100 Are the people that gullible? They are all in DC screwing one another on K street and it has now spread to the Main Street by way of Fox News and Beck's rants to the people he can never relate with because he is a fat millionaire who couldn't be farther from Main Streets reality than anyone on earth.

Richard, I posted your Huffington Post article on my blog, LoanWorkout.org today with link back and it is here on LoanSafe. I disciplined my staff this week for issues on the job and gave them a week off as retribution for their acts. Thus, I do not have my webmaster/designer or help this week who can make us banners etc for the forum. I apologize, but we will have to wait till next Monday for banners etc here on LoanSafe.
