ALWAYS Get Certified funds and Send Certified Mail!!!

Anyone going through this trial period......
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS send certified funds and send certified mail. That is legal proof that you sent payment.
We just made our 3rd trial payment and thank goodness I called to see "how things were going" I was told that they never received our 2nd payment. The woman was soo rude and acted like I was lying or just couldn't remember that I'd forgotten to send it.
The only thing saving me is that I have the receipt for the certified check. The bank verified it was cashed by our mortgage company.
Please people...protect yourself! Keep these receipts. Without that I would not have had proof that I sent payment....
I know this is stuff you all already know..but if I can save just one person the hassle and heartache we have been through I will.
Good luck to everyone (including me This has been a nightmare and every time I think it's almost over this sort of thing happens.

Yeah I had the same thing happen. I have sent all three of my certified payments in and i still recieve a call from chase saying they did not receive one of my payments. i informed them that i was looking at 3 receipts and that i was certainly not going to send them another one or double pay. not only did i send all three i have not heard back from chase to complete or deny my mod! what i think they may be doing is holding back some of the payments to get your account to show late so they can continue to drag it out and show troubled loans. such a pain. i finished my trial period and i still dont know what to do...no ones constacted me and i am leary about continuing to send certified payments...

It certainly makes a lot of sense to have "proof of payment" on hand.
However, if your mortgage holder is a local bank and your checking account is with the same bank, you can show your payment was ACH'ed from one account to the other.
This should accomplish the same end goal ? Correct ?

Well it's scarry to see this happened to you too!!
I know this may sound naive....but I don't think the banks are trying to "fail" us. The government IS...and I don't think these things are done on purpose by the banks.
I believe it is the blind leading the blind. The government just told the lenders to "get it done" without ANY guidelines. We were all given false hope (YES I think this IS the fault of the lenders) They gave us false hope thinking these programs would work. The government does not give a crap about helping us. They lose more money if they help us. The loss mitigation person I am working with said "It's like putting a square peg in a round hole" She is frustrated too.....None of these programs were thought out. There were no guidelines. That is why this is all failing....
