Anyone know what reinstatement fee is(legal fees for the forclosure)

how much are thed legal fees for a forclosure beginning. I had a forclosure started. It went to sending me papers but thats all that it went to . Never went to court just recieved default papers, If I want to keep the house I must pay reinstatment cost of legal fees but I have no idiea what that could be

the best thing to do would probably be to call the bank yourself and speak to the foreclosure department and ask what the fees are, also you can send a written request so that they send you something in writing in return.

With my foreclosure papers there was a detail of fees statement which listed the attorney foreclosure fee as $350 and a fee of $30 for faxing.

My legal etc fees are close to $2000.

My reinstatement amount is close to the 20,000 limit or need subordination of 2nd. One person I talked to said if HAMP goes thru the fees could be reversed, but have to claify with the mangers unit I have been dealing with. If this delays more than 2 more months I am in panic being over the $20,000 limit where the Fannie guidelines say I need the 2nd to subordinate. Yah sure. Why would they they are totally underwater, even the fist is underwater in Phoenix.

Thank you all for writing, the negotiator is calling the law firm so I should know soon. I just wanted to prepare myself. The sum of 350.00 I can live with, when we get in the thousands I get scared, why would it be that high?

it will most likely be different by state, case by case, and how far into the foreclosure process you were. reinstating the loan would mean to pay all past due payment on the account, late fees, and foreclosure fees.

DOES THIS have to be paid up front or can it be put in the back end of the loan, or can just the legal fees be paid up front and the late fees and past due be put on the end?

Under HAMP, the late fees would have to be waived. But they can still charge you for attorney fees, foreclosure costs already incurred, and other expenses. They can add them to the loan balance.
