U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

So 2 weeks ago I posted that I was told by U.S. bank that after 7 long months of trying to get a modification that I should have my packet by the first week of Oct. Well Thursday I get a call saying that they need new paystubs... I assume because the ones I gave them are now old. I fax those over and call the woman leaving a message as her voice mail requests... my account number, my name, and I dont leave multiple messages because as she clearly states... this will not be met with a quicker response. Of course it is now tuesday and she has not returned my call. Call today only to be told that it is still in review, they got my documents and it could be 2 weeks or 2 months.. they have no way of knowing.

My payment for the 1st bounced. I dont have the money this month to make the payment at the amount it is. So now once again I am 60 days behind.

Please does anybody have any suggestions! I am desperate here.

Did US Bank ever assign a negotiator to your case?

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

Has anyone ever told you that you made it to level 2 of the approval process? the people that answer the phone at 866-932-0462 can run your info throught the goverment caculator and within 10 minutes tell you if you made it to level 2 after i was told that was when i got my trial mod in the mail a week and a half later. if they dont tell you about level 2 than someting in your info is keeeping you from getting their. I never heard about level 2 until i got their. I was getting the run around all the time with US bank. Have you ever been run through the caculator? they ran my info through on 4 different calls

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

They tell me all sorts of things. LOL! I have been told it was waiting on final approval. I have been told it was almost completed and a packet was to be sent out the first week in Oct. Then i was told they needed new pay stubs. Yesterday I was told they have no idea. I am going to try that number you gave me today and see what happens.

I have never been told about a negotiator. I will ask.

Im thinking about just not making any more payments and see what happens. It may be a gamble but even if they start foreclosure in Ohio there is a law that I am entilted to have a mediation hearing where state mediators are working with mortgage companies and homeowners to modify loans at that time. I am not sure what else to do....

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

She could be lying. I found that most of the people that answer the phones do. they lye just to get you off the phone
Have you asked the other number you call to run your info through the caculator?

I was told their are 2 offices handling the paperwork that gets mailed in. One for loans with PMI and one for loans without
But the number is the same for everybody hit 1 for refiance and 2 for modification
Call more than once a day. i had gotten completly different responses depending on who i got on the phone on the same day. Some poeple answering the phones are just really dumb i think.
The woman you talked to i bet made up that account number thing!
Good luck keep trying!

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

I called back again and was told the same thing. The other number I was given 877-490-7827 is also a MHA dept. I think it may have something to do with who the investor is... Thats the only thing I can think of. Also I do not have PMI.

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

I joined this forum yesterday.
I also applied for a loan modification yesterday with U.S Bank.
Spent and hour and a half on the phone giving all my info..The Lady was rather pleasant, but seemed somewhat inept.
My updated financial info on the US Bank website, was incorrectly categorized, even after she said it was corrected..
I was told my app would be sent to the Underwriters, and I would recieve my initial paperwork in 3-4 weeks..
She also said any info errors would disqualify my app, which scares me since its not listed right on the website.
I am not very optimistic after reading all of your posts here..

One thing I will tell you is I have been told by several people that anything taken over the phone is not considered official. Until they send you the HAMP packet and you fill it out and send it back they do not start processing your request. I would call back and ask them when you will be getting that.

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

US Bank has been the most difficult bank to work with on our loan modification. It has been over a year and I have heard everything they can throw out and still have NO loan modification. I have went through the process twice and 1st time denied because I made to much, funny because I was unemployed at the time. 2nd time was just denied after another 5 months of waiting because I do not live in the unit. Which they knew for 5 months that we did not live in it. I guess it takes 5 months to figuare that out at US Bank and it shows who the type of people they have working on our accounts.

I have heard the 825 comment, which my loan is as well. I have heard from loss mitigation we are working on it, and then consumer finance we are working on it and they both tell you something different. So who's working on it??? Even today I received a call to call in for some information and when I called they said we do not know what that was for. I called once a week to them for the past year and even had the HOPE foundation helping out and it has got me no where.

If there are any questions that someone that is frustrated could help some of you out there out, please let me know. If I can not help myself, I would love to help others. It should not be this hard and stressful.

Let me know if that works for you. I am lost in who to write. I am thinking I should let Obama know US Bank is not part of his let's get America rolling again campaigne. And US Banks slogan of 'five star service guaranteed' should be taken off their logo.

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

My little advise to those dealing with US Bank, document everything and call with someone. This Bank really screwed me over and sends me documents late so I can get more and more into foreclosure. They even had the nerve to say that I was not willing to work with them. Hello, why do you think I want a loan mod. US Bank is the worst bank out there and they lost my respect for them. I think Obama needs to put them out of business!!!

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

i did hear back from my rep. He gave the number for HUD and suggested I contact them for help. I have not as of now because supposedly my packet is on the way. At this point I am now 90 days behind so I guess they will either modify the loan or take the house. Im not sure I care anymore.

did you see the article in todays business section? they said they have less HAMP because they dont have that many people who need it. right. Also posting profits.

Any new word on your situation Orange?

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

I just received a letter today that I was denied because my "housing ratio exceeds the requirements as defined by the Home affordable mortgage plan".....

The decision was based in whole or in part on information from the (3) consumer reporting agencies.....

What does that mean?

They set up my escrows and Paid my property taxes and 2nd six months of insurance last month....neither of which were even due yet....and I didn't escrow before....

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

My current situation is I am in the middle of a NOD (Notice of Default), which US Bank has been to the date, proactive on the foreclosure process. (Unlike friends of mine that did not hear from their banks for over a year). So from the first time I stopped making payments, 90 days after the filed for NOD, which now I have 90 days till a date of auction. So I have a month and a half till that next process.

My situation my be a little different, I do not live in the place I own (because legally it is a one bedroom and we are only allowed to have 3 people living in it. When I bought it, it was just me and my wife and now we have 2 kids, so we can not live in it, and we were not able to sell it, and it is upside down in price)

My frustration is that I have been "trying" to work with the bank for over a year. I was laid off for 10 months, so I saw that as an opportunity to get a loan mod. I continued making payments on that first loan mod which took them 5 months to come back and tell me, I made too much. I did not know I could make too much being unemployed. However they said because I rented our place out, and rented a place for my family I must be doing good. Let me tell you, I was losing just over $500/month of my own money during that time.

The second loan mod attempt came when I could not afford to make payments anymore after our tenants moved out. We told the bank our situation and laws had supposedly changed where we did not have to be living in it to get a loan mod. Took them another 5 months to tell us that we were denied because we did not live in it. Now, let me tell you, frustrating because each week when I called they kept saying looks good, appraisel on our place was done, and even suggested we get new tenants in to help get payments going to them. (we did get tenants, so don't listen to them)

Meanwhile the foreclosure process did not stop and we are now a month away from losing our place. Calling every week also did not help because we would get in arguments and now they are saying I was also denied because I would not work with them. I still get collection calls of them threatening me, seriously. The last one, last week, the guy said, "You have 7 minutes to make two payments or I will foreclose you right now!" I said, I am not in foreclosure, I know where I stand. He said, "Don't mess with me! You'll see!"

So my words of wisdom again, it may be a stressful time, but it is really teaching me things along the way. One, I am blessed not to be a collection person (how do they sleep at night?). Two, there are bigger things in life we can be worrying about, we need to look at the bigger picture. And three, if you have kids, look at them! Are they worrying about their life, where food will come from, shelter over their heads? No, we need to trust we will be fine!

WOW. I think I have talked to that same guy!!!!! He was evil! Sadly at U.S. Bank there are probably many of him.

If you dont live in the home why are you fighting so hard to keep it? Why not just let it go?

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

Update...It appears to have been a form letter relative to the consumer reporting stuff. Basically they ran my income incorrectly and seemed to have not included taxes and insurance which made it come out like I was under 38% PITI...meaning it was ineligable for HAMP. After some discussion and me getting them some updates I should easily quailfy since the pmt is closer to 50% with PITI...I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

I think I was fighting to keep it for a year because of responsiblity and not wanting to ruin my perfect credit. It is hard to admit that it is just time to let it go.

We are now dealing with someone that is helping us with a short sale. We will see how this process goes.

Re: U.S. Bank runaround... AGAIN!

Orange that makes sense.

This whole thing with the rep that was evil reminds me of the one time I talked to Jamal in loss mit. He told me that if I didnt make 3 payments that month he would start foreclosure. When I told him that I felt that his customer service skills were the worst I had ever dealt with he said "i will not put up with being insulted. I am disconnecting this call" and then hung up on me!

When I called back to talk to a manager I was dumped into a voice mail and never received a return phone call after leaving 5 messages!!! 5 star service guaranteed!!!!!!
