Conflicting Advice From Modification Person

Let's start a thread about all the conflicting advice..things we are told by the loss mitigation/loan mod people we deal with that either don't make sense or are completely opposite of what we were told before. It'll be fun..J/K
This one takes the cake. I called today to see if there is anything new they need from me. We are on our 2nd month of our 3 month trial period for HAMP. I call DAILY to see if there is anything they need from me. In the past, I called less often only to find out they needed something and never bothered to let me know. Yes I know they are busy..but still.
So today, I called and while explaining my situation I told her we were getting ready to send our 3rd and final payment in for the trial period. It is due November 1st. (I paid Oct last week)..I told her we would send it the 2nd week of October. She gasped and said that we should not send it so early. That "they" will see we sent it in early and will assume we no longer need help. She said we could be denied for sending it early. Make sure we send it right on the first. Not a day later..but not earlier either. Really? I can't control the mail. I'd rather send it early and make sure it gets there. AND it's $400 less than our old payment. OF COURSE it's easier for us now..OF COURSE we can afford to send it early..It's less money. It's advice like this that makes me realize NOBODY knows what is going on. I don't believe this is real.
This is just the most recent strange advice I've received. Anyone else had this happen??

I haven't had it happen but it does make some kind of strange sense. Remember, these banking people (not the people we talk to - but rather the "deciders"), are not like the rest of us. They don't think in a way that makes a whole lot of sense. This person could have been giving you some good info but then again maybe not. If you're like most of the people I read about here, you don't have a written trial agreement - right? So they can interpret anything they want any WAY they want. Go with your gut, and document everything.

Re: Conflicting Advice From Modification Person

The "directives" that often are not followed says that payments can be made early but that will not speed up the 3 month trial process.

Re: Conflicting Advice From Modification Person

I know it was probably good advice. Just strange. Seems like we are darned if we do and darned if we don't. I'm suprised they didn't tell us to have it there by 12noon..not one second earlier or later..and the wind must be blowing in from the east..and it must be a full moon...and umm...

We actually are on a written 3 month trial agreement. Our home loan is through Flagstar. We have a Fannie Mae Loan. Flagstar farmed us out to a Home Retention Agency so we are not really even dealing with our mortgage company. The home retention agency people seem honest. I just think they are trying to do all of this with no known guidelines. It's just so new. Blind leading the blind.
