Federal Reserve Bank Consumer Help

Somewhere on another thread there as a comment about the FED. In doing research I found they are monitoring the HAMP program and have been quoted in the media about it.

So I sent my usual media and to Congress etc letter to them

This is a canned reply but at lest they seem to be responding at least to website quieries. This was the one that you have to submit unlike and can't use certain characters... like date can't be 10/26/09 but 10.26.09 since /'s are accepted etc. They also list the usual referral places which I have already been to etc but the first part is the most meaningful.

The logo on top what won't show in Federal Reserve Consumer Help.

I complained about my six month experience with CitiMortgage

It is important to note that there is no charge for homeowner counseling. Borrowers should beware of any organization that attempts to charge a fee for housing counseling or for assisting in finding a lender that will provide a refinance under the Making Home Affordable Plan, especially if they ask for money in advance. Information about avoiding foreclosure scams can also be found on the Federal Reserve Board's website:

FRB: 5 Tips for Avoiding Foreclosure Scams

Another resource for consumers is the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) website. HUD provides information, including local resources, to assist consumers in avoiding foreclosure:

You may also want to share your concerns about the Making Home Affordable Plan with your federal legislators. The following links will provide you with U.S. Congressional contact information:

We hope this information is helpful to you.
