Will the govt audit us this year?

We are on our 2nd of 3 trial payments. My husband worked a side job earlier this year that I forgot about. He made about 6k (before taxes). I did not even think to tell our modification person about it because it paid off some debt and I forgot. Afraid to mention it..afraid they will find out. Will they pull current info/taxes? Can they even do that?? Should I mention it or not? Is that fraud? I am so afraid of everything right now. We have come this far (8 months of fighting). My husband wants me to call and tell the modification person about it tomorrow. I am so afraid. Would they find out if we do not tell? Can they????

I'm not sure why you would need to disclose this information with the modification.. If your husband is no longer working this job they should not consider that income into the equation..
