"forgive past due and late fees"

Has anybody in these forums ever had their bank forgive their past due amounts and late fees. When I read the Homeowners Act that President Obama signed on the WhiteHouse.gov website, it said the mortgage company has the option of forgiving any past due amounts, late fees and even the entire mortgage. That is HOPE. Where is the hope in these money hungry banks. I was clinging to the HOPE that the President outlined. Now I only envision myself out on the street, having to give my animals away and living in my car. I mean literally I will be on the street. I have lived here 35 years. This is my home, not the banks. Do these banks not care that they are contributing to the ********ness and blight of neighborhoods in this country.

To be honest, I have never seen a bank forgive these fees because they feel it is whet your owe, they are debt collectors and that is past due debt. Please keep in mind that often they are collecting for an investor and they would face serious lawsuits if they just wiped clean these fess for many homeowners.

I addition, this is where the bank profits come in and have you ever heard of a bank turning away a method to make money? Not so much
