Re: Just Received Trial Mod Paperwork from U.S. Bank

I entered trial modification 9-1-2009 and received a letter two weeks later that was dated 9-8-2009 saying I was denied for the following reason:
"Did not meet the Net Present Value (NPV) requirement as defined by HAMP"
What to do next?

Did you already sign and return the documents for the trial period?

Re: Just Received Trial Mod Paperwork from U.S. Bank

When are the lenders actually supposed to perform the NPV-analysis? Is that mentioned in the HAMP-guidelines?

Re: Just Received Trial Mod Paperwork from U.S. Bank

the SAME thing happened to us. APPROVED 8/31, sent paperwork sept payment, sent oct 1st payment and THEN got a letter. I called no one knows anything, every person that i spoke to previousy is no longer with the company and they won't even remove the late fees they caused. They are not practicing DUE DILLIGENCE by running these tests PRIOR to sending the modification documents out and approving them. IF need be I am going to the MEDIA.

They should run the NPV twice:

First, BEFORE they actually offer a trial period plan and later, when they have the complete and latest documentation of your income. That's how it's supposed to be under HAMP-guidelines.

Now if lenders are actually doing that, is another question..
