GMAC contacts - follow up?

Hi everyone!

First I have to say that this has been one of the most helpful sites to me in addressing the issues that I am having with GMAC and my attempt to modify my ARM rate mortgage and HELOC.

Now, I made the jump and contacted Gary Neuman at GMAC since it appeared that others were having positive experiences and that he has been able to get the ball rolling in most situations. I emailed Mr. Neuman on 8/4/09 and received a response within 40 minutes asking for my account information stating that he would have the matter reviewed. I provided the information that he requested and I have not heard anything since. I don't want to be a bother or a pest but how long have most people waited when they contacted him? At what point should I begin to follow up? I am anxious because I have a trial offer pending and the due date for the first payment and acceptance paperwork is 8/20.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!!!!

Re: GMAC contacts - follow up?

It is usually best to wait a few business days and then call. I have other contacts but it seems like you have done well with this guy and may want to continue down that route. A call back in 40 minutes is almost unheard of let alone a call at all.

Re: GMAC contacts - follow up?

Hi! Thank you for the reply!

I have not spoken to him by phone - only corresponded via email.

Yes, I have a two-page document regarding the trial period offer from GMAC. This was the reason that I contacted him in the first place. I was denied based on income. They indicated that I have sufficient income to make my payments. If that is so why did I receive the mysterious offer from them via FedEx two days later? I confirmed it was from Loss Mitigation at the same address that I sent my initial packet.

Mr. Neuman indicated that he would have the matter reviewed....I just don't want to be too pushy and do not know how to proceed.

Thanks for your input!

Call GMAC to Make sure you still have a trial modification before you go 30 days on your regular payment.

July 28 Obama Administration met with banks
July 29 Received a phone call from GMAC approving our modification
July 30 Received Fed Ex Package from GMAC
Aug 4 Goverment press release of July modifications
Aug 6 Had my attorney review
Aub 9 faxed to GMAC
Aug 12 picked up certified funds dues by Sept 1st
Aug 14 Called GMAC to verify fax was received and it was.

I was then transferred to collections and told my payment was due on August 1st with a 15 day grace period. I told them I had a trial modification and my payment was due on Sept 1st. They said my modification was made in Error and canceled on Aug 5 the day after the goverments press release.

Please help, do you have any contacts for GMAC?

I will post this as a new thread so other can see.
